Rome turned his head slightly when she ran her fingers ran through his hair. He looked up at China with his visible eye and gave her a soft smile. "I agree." he mumbled. "Why do you females have to be so complicated?" he asked jokingly.

The two Demons watched as Faye disappeared into the town.

The store was eerily quiet. There was not a soul in sight other than Faye. No one stood behind the cashier's stand and no customers browsed the store. However in the back of the store, the door that said staff only was partially open and a soft light glowed from within the back room.

China gave Rome a sly smile.It's a secret. She said. She stopped brushing her fingers through his hair and scooted closer to him, burying her head in the crook of his neck.

Faye proceeded cautiously through the store, making as little noise as was humanely possible. She had been excited to see Silva up until now, but now she was nervous, slightly scared even. He was angry at her when she left, why would he not be angry now? She turned to leave when her foot hit a creaky piece of floorboard, causing a loud squeak.

Rome smiled with a soft laugh. When she put her head in the crook of his neck he turned slightly to wrap his arms around his wife.

Despite the loud squeak nothing stirred. The light in the back room of the store did flicker however almost as if it had heard Faye.

China sighed, drawn in to his warmth. She closed her eyes and smile happily.

Faye saw the light flicker and curiosity got the better of her. She walked towards the door and knocked tentatively.

"I'm lucky that I found you." Rome murmured before yawning and snuggling up to China.

At Faye's knock the door swung the rest of the way open. There was a desk, a large desk chair, and shelves that held multiple vials, bottles, and trinkets all along the walls. A small lantern sat on the desk, the light within flickering around at Faye's presence, obviously attracted to any source of magic. In the desk chair though was the most shocking sight. Silva sat there clearly passed out, his head tilted to the side with his arms hanging over the arm rest on the sides of the chair. In one of his hands was a nearly empty bottle of strong alcohol and in the other a picture of Faye shortly before they split up.

China snorted delicately. It was me who found you, actually. She murmured.

Faye jumped back in shock when the door opened. She cautiously stepped inside the room, looking around with wonder. Her gaze settled on Silva. A course of emotions ran through her head: Happiness, hurt, longing, sadness. And then, when she saw the bottle, anger. She grabbed the bottle from Silva's hand, setting it on the table with a loud bang.

"And aren't I lucky that you did?" he laughed with a smirk. His eyes shining with happiness.

Silva jerked upright at the loud bang. His bleary eyes not focusing on anything around him. He leaned forward, hunched over in his chair, running his hands through his now cropped silver hair and over his gaunt face. He figured he must have just dropped the bottle he had been drinking onto the floor along with several others that had by now rolled under the desk. He couldn't remember how many it had been since he started early that morning. He was finding it harder and harder to block her from his mind now that his body was starting to build up a tolerance.

China giggled.And don't you ever forget it.

Faye covered her mouth and gasped, tears in her eyes at the sight of his now short hair, the long hair that she had once loved gone. Silva? She whispered.

Rome smiled and kissed China softly on the cheek. "I won't." he promised.

Silva jerked his head up and his eyes seemed to focus only for a few seconds on Faye before he closed them and leaned back into his chair. "Now I'm imagining her and her voice. I need something stronger..." he groaned, placing a hand over his thin face. He had once taken great pride in his appearance, his long hair being his pride and joy, but after losing Faye he just couldn't bring himself to care. He'd cut his hair short, nearly stopped eating completely, and had taken to drinking. The only thing keeping him going this long being the magic in his system. "If only I was human..." he mumbled quietly.

China closed her eyes and sighed.

Faye's mouth tightened. He thought she was an illusion. Well, she would show him just what this illusion could do. She stepped in front of him, lifted her hand, and smacked him across the face. She immediately felt guilty at the noise of the sharp slap.

Silva jerked up and out of his chair at the sharp slap to his face, his eyes glowing with pure anger. The effects of the alcohol being slightly numbed by the magic suddenly coursing to his finger tips as he reached out and caught hold of the hand that had hit him. His eyes came to focus on the offender that had dared to enter his personal area and smack him of all things. The moment the image of the person standing in front of him registered in his mind he jerked back in complete shock, dropping the hand he had grabbed. He staggered backwards and tripped over an empty bottle on the ground, sending him crashing to the ground.

Faye jumped back in fear when she saw the pure anger in his eyes. She eyed him warily as he dropped her hand, and gasped when he went crashing to the ground. She rushed over to him and peered at him, wondering if he was too drunk to even recognize her.

Silva groaned from his sprawled position on the floor, reaching up to rub the back of his head which was pounding painfully. He glanced up at the person standing in his office and rubbed his eyes. "F-Faye?" he muttered, his voice slurring slightly.

Faye sighed.Yes, me. Do you even remember your own name? She said, not hiding the irritation in her voice.

Silva's eyes widened slightly at the confirmation before narrowing at her comment. "Of course. Not that you would. Last I remember I was the last thing on your mind." he growled, angry at both Faye and himself.

Faye's jaw set.That's a lie and you know it. I'm sorry if I wanted to see the world a little bit before I settled down. She frowned.Although the world didn't particularly like me. But that's not the point. She swayed a little bit. Seeing no chair around, she sat on the floor, keeping her weight on her right side.

Even through the alcohol Silva noticed Faye's comment and the fact that she seemed to avoid the left side of her body. "Then please enlighten me. What is the point? Why are you here?" he asked, voice bitter and still slurred.

Faye sighed.It's clearly not obvious to your drunk brain right now but I came back to see my family, and I also came back for you.

Silva glared down at his feet before he turned his attention back to Faye. "If it hadn't been for you leaving then I would never have started." he grumbled. "Why would you come back for me? I'm sure you found plenty of men on your journeys that would be much more adventurous and exciting than me."

Faye rolled her eyes. Yes Silva, I came back to tell you that I found the perfect man and you're invited to the wedding. How many times must I say it? I. Came. Back. For. You.

Silva stared at Faye for a few moments more before he sat up a little more. He dropped his head into his hands, her words finally finding their way into the logically thinking part of his mind. Tears brimmed in his eyes as he finally realized that Faye had returned, the alcohol in his system not allowing him to keep his emotions in check.

Faye moved forward and put her arms around him gently, leaning her head into his neck and breathing in his scent.How could you think I didn't want you? She whispered.

Silva kept his face buried in his hands even as Faye put her arms around him. "Before you left you didn't have a clue if you even had feelings for me. You were convinced that there was more for you somewhere else." he whispered, his voice full of hurt.

I lied. I got this weird feeling that I was making you break some sort of rule, so I left.

"Did it ever look to you like I cared if I was breaking any rules?" he questioned her. "I loved you with all of my heart and it felt like you tore my heart out and stomped on it." he grumbled, his shoulders trembling slightly.
