Thistle snarled and bared her fangs at Faye. "Don't you think I've tried?" she snapped.

Faye chewed on her lip.I think you've tried and given up. She sighed. She subconciously pulled the sleeves of her top down to cover her wrists and most of her hands. She shrugged and started towards the farmhouse.

Thistle bared her fangs angrily. "I have traveled everywhere searching for him. I have followed every lead I was able to find. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a Spellcastor of Silva's age that does not want to be found? Even as a halfblood he has mastered the technique of covering his tracks so well that not even his Demon can pinpoint his general location." she growled at Faye. "I have only come back to rest before I continue my search. At the very least I did not disappear without a word, leaving behind the one man who loves you more than you could even comprehend." she snapped. She leaped off the porch, turning her back and walking to the shade of a nearby tree.

Faye looked at the wold as she stalked away, her heart sunk. She went into the house and looked around the familiar place.Dad? She called out.

Rome came flying out of a nearby doorway at the sound of his daughter's voice. He stopped dead in his tracks at the sight of her before launching himself at her and wrapping her in a tight embrace. "I'm so glad you came home..." he whispered quietly.

Faye grinned from ear to ear when she saw her father. When he hugged her she couldn't stop a hiss of pain escaping from her mouth.

Rome quickly took a step back, but kept a hand on Faye's shoulder at her hiss of pain. "What's wrong? Are you hurt?" he asked, almost frantically.

Faye was breathing hard but she looked at the ground and said nothing. She knew her father would make a fuss if he saw.

Rome noticed her silence and it worried him. "Faye? What is it? What's wrong? What are you not telling me?" he asked.

Faye looked up at him.You have to promise me that you won't get mad.

Rome's face scrunched up in confusion. "Why would I get mad at you? I'm just glad you returned home." he questioned in concern.

Faye swallowed.It doesn't matter. I need to find Silva.She mumbled.Can you help me?

Rome looked at her, still worried. "It does matter. What is it?" he asked seriously. His eyes widened slightly at her question. "What do you mean? I thought he was with you."

Faye sighed.No. Apparently Thistle has been searching for him but she couldn't find him because he hid himself too well.

Rome stepped away and started pacing the room. "I thought you had both left to be together. Do you have any idea why he left?" he asked.

We didn't. Thistle seems to think that he left because of me, at least I get the feeling that she's blaming me for something.Faye said, the bewilderment clear in her voice. She looked up at her father.Don't you think you can find him?She asked him. If her father couldn't find him, she didn't know who could. He seemed to be her only hope.

Rome rubbed his chin in thought. "I might be able to, but it has been a year and if he has covered his tracks with magic it may very well make it near impossible to pinpoint his location. We may unfortunately need to call on Shae for help." He thought for a moment longer. "Did the two of you get into an argument before you left?" he asked.

Faye bit her lip.I told him I wanted to be free for a bit and he got really angry at me and left.She said, her voice shaking.

Rome frowned at her words. "That doesn't sound like his usual behavior, but I guess love does do some crazy things to people." he sighed. "I'll see what I can do, but in the mean time you need to go see your mother. She has missed you greatly." he told her.

Faye started at Rome's use of the word 'love'. She had always thought that her father was against the very idea of her and Silva being in love. She hugged him in thanks and went upstairs into her mother's room. China was sitting on her bed, reading a book. When she saw her daughter she could not stop the squeal of delight that escaped her mouth. Faye ran to her and they embraced tightly.

Rome smiled softly at the sound of the muffled squeal of delight from his and China's room. He shook his head and walked out onto the front porch. He frowned deeply as he leaned against the porch railing. After Faye and Silva had both disappeared he had done a lot of thinking. He had come to the realization that he wouldn't trust anyone else more with his little girl than the friend that he had grown up with. He had grown to accept what he had thought was their love for each other. Their argument before they both left is going to make things more difficult and complicated.

China and Faye were sitting on the bed. Faye was excitedly telling China about her travels.

Rome sighed before walking down the few steps off the deck. He walked out to an old oak tree that stood in front of the ranch house before sitting down on the grass with his back pressed against the large trunk of the oak. He sighed before laying his palms against the ground. With a deep breath his eyes suddenly glowed a bright green. He extended his magic into the very ground beneath him. He could feel anything living that was in contact with the ground. Trees and plants, animals, and humans. He skipped past most of them, narrowing his search to only the human like beings. His magic suddenly narrowed in on someone with a good amount of magic flowing back, a magic he recognized. He was just about to connect with the person when a burning sensation was fired back through his link. He cried out and jerked his hands away from the ground. He looked down at the palms of his hands in complete shock. The top layer of skin was burned black, smoke drifting from his palms.

China looked up when she heard Rome cry out. After hugging Faye one more time she exited the bedroom and made her way down the stairs and out of the house. Some movement caught her eye by the old oak tree that stood by the house and she recognized it as Rome. She walked slowly towards him, keeping a cautious eye out in case there was any danger. She knelt down by Rome.Are you okay? What happened? She asked.

Rome looked up in shock at China, smoke still drifting from his hands. He looked back at his hands and shook his head with a small laugh. His eyes flashed again and the skin on his palms healed over quickly. "I've found him." he told told her, an unamused smile on his face. He leapt to his feet and whistled loudly. Shenshi came barreling out of the barn, saddle and bridle already on. "I'll be back as soon as I can. I have to find him for her." he told China quickly, kissing her briefly on the cheek before vaulting into the saddle and wheeling his Demon towards the entrance of the ranch. Without much encouragement Senshi took off for the road.
