Careta crouched in front of Ana. "Do you know who it belongs to?" she asked, her voice taking on a gentle tone.

Ana felt as if she was gargling nails.I might. She whispered.

Careta grabbed the woman's hand carefully. "Can you tell me who it might be?" she asked. She sympathized for her. She could only guess that Ana had not intended to have the child with whoever it belonged to. She had seen her older brothers take several of the young female Weres in the same way, but they had killed any of their tainted offspring, as they called them.

Ana had to pause before speaking.Do you believe in the legend of Count Dracula?She started.

Careta bristled slightly at the name. "You mean that vampire that lives not far from here?!" she asked in surprise.

Ana looked down.Yes.

"Are you going to tell Fenris?" she asked, softening her voice. "What about the other new Were?"

I don't want Fenris to know what that monster has done. And that other Were is my brother. I can tell him.Ana said.

"Why did Fenris Change both of you?" Careta asked. She frowned slightly. "Don't you think Fenris will find out eventually?"

Careta looked at Ana worriedly. "It's going to be part Vampire. Don't you think that will be noticeable when it's born?" she asked.

Ana groaned.Yes, of course he will, but I want to delay it as much as possible.

Careta shook her head. "He'll be heartbroken if you tell him you are with pup and you don't tell him who it belongs to." she told her. "Don't lie to him. He really likes you."

Ana looked away as another tear fell down her cheek.I don't want to say it out loud.

Careta's eyes softened at the tears. She moved forward a little and wiped them away with another tissue. "Just hint at it like you did with me. Fenris may be a little thick headed, but if I remember right my brother isn't dumb. He'll figure it out and he won't blame you for it." she told her lightly.

Ana ran a hand through her hair.Okay. But I want to find out if this is possible first.

Careta looked at her, confused. "How could it not be possible? Humans have had Were pups before. Even though it is strictly forbidden."

Ana sighed.Dracula is not exactly one of the living.

Careta couldn't argue with that answer. She shrugged her shoulders. "Do you know of any way to find out?" she asked. A thought suddenly caught her attention. "Were you Changed before or after it happened?" she asked abruptly.

Ana looked at her strangly.After, why?

Careta shook her head. "It was just a thought. Were pups mature a lot faster than humans due to the fact that most of our females are warriors. There's always the constant threat of danger. I knew humans didn't mature very quickly, and I wasn't sure about Vampires." she told her.

She thought about it for a while and then stood up.I'm going to dracula's castle.She announced.

"Not by yourself, you won't." Careta replied immediately, startled.

"You're a Were now. Vampires and Weres aren't the best of friends. I'm not going to let you go there alone. I can't let my brother down again." she told Ana, the last bit coming out as a whisper.
