Fenris knew that it wasn't just 'nothing'. He frowned and pulled her along a little faster. When they finally reached the house he quietly opened the door and shut it behind them. "Ashton?" he called out into the quiet home.

Ana heard an unrepeatable curse scream from Ashtons mind and she screamed at Fenris to duck, pulling him down just before a small table bounced off the door.

The moment Fenris heard Ana scream to duck and felt her pull him down he Shifted and dropped into a crouch. He yelped in shock when the table hit the door and darted out of the way as it hit the ground behind him.

Ashton stood in the hallway. His large eyes were narrowed and his firngers were balled into fists.

Fenris Shifted back and looked from Ana to Ashton. "Ana, can you head on up to your room please?" he asked quietly, his eyes never leaving Ashton.

Ana needed no repeating of the order. She was upstairs in no time.

Fenris waited until Ana was upstairs before he let himself take a deep breath. "Ashton, I have no intention of coming between the relationship you and your sister have." he started off cautiously.

Ashton simply snarled.The vampire was right. You are a pest.He spat the last word.

Fenris couldn't help a small growl at the comment before he sighed. He knew it wouldn't be easy. "What would you have me do? Do you doubt my abilities to protect Ana? Do you think I don't love her?" he asked.

What I want you to do is leave us alone. We are the last of the DiQaurto family. Every single last relative of ours is dead. We were born for one reason and one reason only, to kill Dracula, and you are distracting her!his eyes said what he truely felt inside. He was terrified of being alone again.

Fenris couldn't help but growl at the name of the vampire. "Do you not know why I Changed your sister?" he asked. "It was because of that reason you were born. Dracula nearly killed her! Where we you when all that happened?" he snarled, not waiting for an answer. "If you hate me so much why did you decide to become what I am? Do you think it will make you stronger than being a pathetic human? It won't. I'll tell you that right now. You are nothing but a pup." he snapped angrily, slowly losing his usually well contained temper.

Fenris snarled and bared his lengthening teeth at Ashton. "I've lost both of my parents and every single one of my brothers not to mention many of my packmates who are just as close to me as family. I understand what it means to be the last one of your line. I do not want to lose Ana as well." he growled. "Why did you not refuse the Change if you could not trust anyone? Do you not understand the need to be close to a pack?" he asked angrily.

I accepted the change because I wanted to live. I was scheduled to DIE!He shouted.

Fenris' growl was cut off as he looked at Ashton in shock. "Scheduled to die?" he asked, confused.

He crossed his arms and looked at the griund.[b]Yes. To die. The doctors gave me 3 months to live when they found traces of a rare fatal disease in my blood. My human body was not strong enough.

"Did Ana know?" Fenris couldn't help but ask.

Ashton shook his head.I was going to tell her the night i got changed.

"And did you?" Fenris asked, sparing a glance upwards to where Ana had locked herself up in her room.

He looked down.I never got the chance.

"Then tell her now." Fenris told him. "I'm leaving to check up on the town. To see if there are any new residents. You have you chance. Use it." he said quietly before turning on his heel and walking out the door.

Fenris started a small bit, then looked up towards Anas room. He took the first step, then tutned around and shook his head. No point in worrying her, not when he was fine now.
