Fenris nodded, but still felt guilty. "I shouldn't have let her so close. I didn't even know she was still alive." he said.

Faye looked at him.You didnt know that your own sister was alive?

Fenris shook his head. His eyes taking on a haunted look. "She had a twin. They were identical in every possible way, even their voices." he told her quietly. "Before I was exiled my brothers brought me out of the caves, beaten and bound. They brought out one of the twins and made her kneel in front of the whole pack. Two of my brothers Shifted. They tore her to pieces in front of everyone, saying that she had been the cause of our parents' deaths. I was dragged out into the woods and left, my hands bound with ropes and a silver collar with a chain wrapped around a tree. I was left for dead, but within hearing distance of the caves. They must have killed several others in the pack by the screams and before I passed out from the silver I thought I heard my other sister's scream." he shuddered as the words poured from his mouth. "I thought they had killed her as well."

Ana put her arms around him.Oh my God.

Fenris wrapped her in his arms and held her tightly against him. He rested his cheek on top of her head and sighed. "That's why I didn't know if she was alive. I thought that my brothers were the only ones of my family left before we killed them." he whispered.

Ana leaned her head on his chest and listened to his heart.

Fenris smiled softly before looking at Ashton. He gave the man a questioning look, asking if he had told Ana yet.

Ashton wouldnt meet his eyes.

Fenris growled softly before pulling back to look at Ana. "What were you doing in town?" he asked curiously.

She smiled.Something.

Fenris raised an eyebrow in question. "Are you going to tell me what that something is?" he asked with a small smile.

Fenris grinned. "Not even if I ask nicely? I'm really curious." he said.

Ana shook her head and grinned at him.

"Now you're just not being fair." he told her, pouting.

Ana tapped him on the nose and pulled Back to see Ashton staring at them out of the corner of his eye.

Fenris sighed when she pulled back, but he had the feeling of being watched. He glanced over and realized it was Ashton. "Would you like me to leave the two of you alone?" he asked Ana, somewhat sadly.

Ashton got up and walked out, he was afraid to tell her, afraid to see the look on her face.

Fenris watched him walk out and looked at Ana. "Do you want me to go after him?" he asked softly.

Ana looked at Fenris oddly.Is something wrong?

Fenris looked at Ana for a moment before finally simply shrugging his shoulders. "I guess if there is it's his own business." he sighed.

Ana smiled at him and walked out.

Fenris watched her leave before letting out a deep sigh. He yawned tiredly and made his way up the stairs. He thought about going to check on Careta, but then decided to go to his own room. Once he entered the room and shut the door he sprawled out on the bed and yawned again loudly. Within moments he was asleep.

Careta waited until she heard Fenris go to his room and fall asleep before she jumped from the bed and moved to the open window in the room. It was the same one she had entered with the large tree just outside. She took a running start and leapt through the window, landing easily on a tree branch. She then got herself ready to jump to the ground. She wanted to find and follow one of the newly Changed Weres and find out more about them.

Ana was in her room, examining her stomach in the mirror.

Careta heard someone enter the room just down the hall from the one she left and moved carefully to the other side of the tree. She spotted the woman through the window and watched her for a while before reaching up and grabbing an acorn from the tree. She threw it lightly at the window before grabbing two more acorns to throw to get the woman's attention. If the window was open she could jump inside, but there was no ledge to stand on to open the window herself.
