Sweeney stepped back, putting his hands up.Sorry. I'd hate to offend you, but I've got more important things on my mind, like your mistress.He said.

Raven sat on the window sill and started to lick one of her front paws. "That is the exact reason I'm choosing to speak with you know. I don't exactly understand your species behavior, but I can tell both of you are suffering. You can't stop thinking about some lost love and watching you suffering is making my mistress, as you called her, suffer. This needs to be fixed." she said before returning to the cleaning of her paw.

Sweeney turned to the cat.I suppose you just want to fix everything? You come to me, start talking then demand that I fix my problems? You know nothing of human emotion.He spat, turning back to the window.

"Love, hate, joy, sorrow. All creatures understand the basic emotions." Raven said as she placed her paw back down. "It may be true that I do not know much about the way humans react to certain emotions, but then again most were-cats do not. We are simply observers of the different races who watch the passing of time." She suddenly turned sharp eyes on Sweeney. "But just because I am meant to observe it does not mean I have to sit back and watch as those I care about suffer. I have lost many friends and even at one time, long ago, a mate during my time in this world. Time flashes by quickly and you will only regret it if you continue to dwell in the past." she told him, her voice flat although an odd emotion flickered in her eyes at the mention of her mate.

Sweeney continued to look out the window.You lost a mate? Do not lie to me, cat. I heard something change in youre voice at the mention of a mate.He muttered.

Raven couldn't stop the hiss that escaped her as the fur along her back bristled. "Call me a liar again and you won't have to worry about your suffering." she hissed angrily. She took a deep breath and her fur finally laid flat as she calmed down. "He was murdered a long, long time ago." she told him quietly.

His eyes were dark as he stared out the window.You know exactly what it is to lose somebody that you love forever. But Rosetta is now my life.He turned to go.

"Yes, but just because my mate was killed it did not mean that I had to dwell on it and make myself miserable, as well as those around me." Raven told him softly. She watched as he turned away. "Then let her know that by more than words. Stop making yourself suffer for something you couldn't have changed. There is no point in fighting fate." she whispered.

Sweeney shook his head. He could never forget Lucy. He turned and walked out of the room, and went to find Rosetta.

Raven let out a small hiss of annoyance and leaped off of the window sill. She quickly padded back to the boys' room and resumed her watchful perch on one of the shelves above the cribs. There was nothing more she could do at the moment.

Rosetta had left the boys' room shortly after Sweeney had. She was now out in the small flower garden in the backyard. She was sitting under the small shade tree with her arms wrapped around her legs as she rested her chin on top of her knees, looking off into space.

Sweeney wandered out into the garden. He sat down on the small white bench they kept there, and sat, brooding.

Rosetta was picking at a loose string on her dress when she heard a small whimpering near the far end of the yard. She suddenly heard a vicious snarl and then a high pitched squeal. Without even hesitating she scrambled to her feet and took off towards the back of the yard. She threw open the gate of the fence that went around the garden and froze when she saw a huge dog with a small white puppy in its mouth. The puppy was covered in blood and was limp in the other dogs mouth as it was shook like a child's doll. She started shouting and charged the dog, trying to get it to drop the small puppy. The dog dropped the puppy, but then spun on her. She screamed as the dog leaped on her, biting down on her arm when she raised it to cover her face. She screamed again when she felt the sharp teeth sink deep into her arm.

Sweeney heard commotion and moved swiftly towards the sound.

Rosetta let out a high pitched scream of pain when the dog jerked backwards, dragging her by her arm. She tried to pull away and stand up, but the dog simply pulled harder, sending her right back to the ground. She cried out again as she felt the skin tear more. Tears ran from her eyes just as heavily as the blood was falling from her arm.

The twins started crying inside the house. They had woken up hungry and their shrill cries covered Rosetta's screams that were coming from outside. No one would be able to hear her from inside the house, not even Raven.

Sweeney heard the children and quickly turned back towards the house, thinking Rosetta was with the twins.

Rosetta cried out again as the dog tugged on her arm, her voice getting weaker as the blood started to pool on the ground. A sudden loud yowl from a cat caught the dog's attention and just as suddenly as it had started the attack it let go and took off down the alley. Rosetta managed to crawl over to where the puppy was before collapsing. The little white puppy was unconscious, but it was obviously still alive by how rapidly its small sides were heaving. She lifted it up in her good arm and managed to get back up. She staggered to the still open gate and walked through it towards the house, leaving it open. Blood splattered on the ground with every step she took. When she finally managed to reach the house she fell onto the back step, her shoulder colliding with the door.

The boys continued to cry.

Sweeney here the resounding thump and went to see what was going on. When he saw Rosetta he nearly passed out. He kneeled next to her and took her good shoulder, beginning to shake it.

Rosetta looked up at Sweeney with blurry eyes. She managed a small smile before she finally lost consciousness. The puppy still held tightly against her chest.

Sweeney moved her onto their bed and tore strips from a cloth blanket, tying them around her arm.

Rosetta could feel a slight tightening around her arm and her blurry eyes snapped open as she let out a cry of pain, thinking the dog still had a hold of her arm. She soon passed out again.

The little white puppy on her chest began to whimper and squirm a little as it started to wake up, it's fur a nasty mix of dried and drying blood.

The boys' started to cry even louder when they heard their mother's cry of pain.

Sweeney took the puppy and placed it in a basket before tending to Rosetta again. He started cleaning the blood from her arm.

The puppy curled up in the basket and fell back to sleep.

Rosetta finally regained consciousnesses and looked up at Sweeney, her eyes finally clearing up a little. Her good arm tightened over her chest and her eyes widened when she couldn't feel the puppy. "W-what happened...to the dog?" she managed to ask, her voice quiet and shaky. She suddenly heard the twins and tried to sit up.

Sweeney pushed her gently back down.Sleeping. Don't worry about it for now.

Rosetta nodded slightly, but still tried to sit up. "The boys." she groaned as she put weight on her injured arm.
