Rosetta gave him a small smile. "I'm not upset that you're quiet." she told him shaking her head. She wouldn't meet his eyes as she said it.

He gently grabbed her chin and held it so that she couldn't look away, and held her eyes with his black ones.Really? Tell me the truth.

Rosetta had no choice, but to look in his eyes. "I-uh...I..." she tried to speak, but the lump in her throat kept her from saying anything. Tears started to fill her bright green eyes and she held Logan a little tighter against her chest.

His face softened and he thumbed a tear from her cheek.Oh, Rosetta...He crooned. Why are you crying?

Rosetta leaned toward the touch and moved to set Logan back in his crib. Once he was covered with a blanket she turned and threw her self against Sweeney wrapping her arms around his waist, burying her face in his chest. "W-why won't you trust m-me?" she sobbed against the front of his shirt.

He hugged her back, stroking her hair.You have enough of a burden already without dealing with mine.

"I-I don't care..." Rosetta whispered. "Don't you know I'd do anything for you?" she asked him as she glanced up at his face, tears falling from her eyes.

He looked away from her tear stained face. He couldn't bear the fact that she was hurting so much. He kicked himself internally and then heard himself say the horrible words.That wasn't Lucy. He whispered. He had been so careful not to think about it too much and had avoided saying the words until now. His face melted into a mask of utter suffering.

Rosetta gasped and looked up at Sweeney with wide teary eyes. The moment she saw the look on his face she reached up with a hand to caress his cheek. "What?" she asked softly, her sobs quietening.

Sweeney shook his head. His voice was hollow when he saidLucy never came back. That wasn't her.

"Oh...Sweeney. I-I'm so sorry." Rosetta whispered, wrapping her arms tightly around his waist. She felt ashamed. Here she was crying over the fact that Sweeney wouldn't talk to her and he was clearly suffering more than she was.

He wrapped one arm around her small waist and rested his chin on her hair, his eyes closed and his heart throbbing in depression.

Rosetta buried her face in his neck. "I wish I could do something...I'm so sorry." she murmured.

That part of my life is over now. I have you.His voice was a strange mixture of depressed and uncertain, though he pulled back to kiss her softly on the forehead.

Rosetta could only stand there as he kissed her forehead. The sound of his voice had her worried. "Are you sure that's what you want?" she asked quietly, her hands falling to her sides. She didn't want to be part of Sweeney's suffering.

Yes.He whispered. He quickly left the room, not capable of answering more questions.

Rosetta froze, her hand outstretched as if to stop him, but simply let her arm drop to her side. She collapsed into the chair by the boys' cribs and held her head in her hands. She wished there was something she could do. If she could she would bring Lucy back, even if it meant she couldn't be with Sweeney. She would give her own life if it would end his suffering.

Sweeney stood by the window in their bedroom and looked out of it, standing still as stone. He loved Rosetta and he would do anything for her and their children, but Lucy was still occupying a section of his heart and it hurt.

Raven had been watching the two older-humans from her perch in the little-human's room. Her tail lashed in annoyance to see the red-haired human upset. She silently left the room and found the male human in his main room. She leaped up onto the window sill and sat down, looking sternly at him. Her bright green eyes were far more intelligent than they should be for a cat.

Sweeney glanced at the cat. Why did she stare at him so? He stared right back, to see who would look away back.

Raven's ears flicked back and she bared her sharp teeth in a silent snarl. "Didn't your parents' ever teach you not to stare a cat in the eyes?" came a very feminine voice from the black cat.

Sweeney flinched slightly at the voice, but answered.No. My parents never listed the dangers of staring a cat in the eyes, why do you ask?

"I ask because I find it very rude." Raven replied, her tail lashing in annoyance. "But I suppose most people have never met a were-cat so it can't be helped." she sighed.

Sweeney looked sideways at her, his eyes disbelieving.I'm hallucinating. Good grief.Hw mumbled.

Raven let out an offended hiss. "All of you humans are the same! Thick-head and insolent creatures. You can't even tell the difference between myth and truth." she exclaimed. She crouched and leaped towards Sweeney's chest, before springing back to the window sill.
