The bay arab mare trotted down the trail in the forest, her two foals following her. One, a small black bay filly with a star on her forehead, just like her mother. The other was a dark bay colt, with no marking, like his father. As she trotted, they trailed behind her, their long legs keeping up. She found a small clearing with lush green grass, and stopped, grazing.

"I thought you wanted to go swimming? I would help you!" He cantered after them.

She looked up, and laughed softly. 'I figured i'd wait until these two fell asleep. Then i'd swim where i could still see them in the cave." she said. The foals raced around, energetically playing tag.

(I decided the filly was Starlight and the colt was Moonlight, haha )

"No we'll ALL go now!" He lead the way back to the cove and splashed into the water and looked back to see if they were following.

She rolled her eyes, and called to her foals. She cantered back up the trail, emerging onto the dunes. She trotted into the cool ocean water, her foals following cautiously. She closed her eyes as the cold water lapped over her back.

He watched the foals' wade in deeper. He waded into the water with them making sure nothing happened.

Lady Luck glanced back at them, flicking one ear. She flicked her head under the surface, sending water rippling over her face and neck. She snorted, sending the water away from her nsotril, and then turned, wading shallower so the water was just to her chest.

Shaton urged the foals' to do the same. He stood in the water though,trudging deep he started swimming and he whent under,coming back up he cleared out his nostrils' and swam back to Lucky and Moonlight and the other foal (forgot name XD).

Lady Luck watched him, and then slowly waded til it was knee-high. Then she lay down, letting the water cover her body, sighing.

He let the foals' lay above her so they could enjoy the water too. When they were comfortable,he took a place beside her.

She sighed, blinking at him. When he lay down, she lay her head on his side so she wouldn't inhale water. "Finally.' she smiled, as the sounds of the waves filled her ears. "We live on a beach, but this is the first time i've gone swimming.

She lifted her head and rolled so she could stand. She trotted out, onto the sad, and shook her coat dry. Then she trotted over the dunes and into the closest field, grazing on the knee-high flowers. Her foals didn't need to nurse as often, and if they got hungry they'd find her.

Shaton urged the colt and filly into the dunes,they looked tired. He trotted towards Lucky. "Is something wrong?"

She looked up. "No, not at all.' she reassured him, flicking her tail gently. "Why?"

"You seem like something is wrong... Is it something I did? Or something I didn't do?" He walked closer,he put his muzzle up to her's and snorted softly.

"No." she said softly, flicking one ear. "I am fine." she said gently, reassuring him. "Don't worry. Nothings wrong.' She flicked her tail, stirring up the wildflowers around them. Her optics gazed into his, and she gently blew onto his muzzle. She cocked one hoof, anfd then leant on it again, her tail egntly flicking either side of her rump, brushing away the flies. The sun shone down upon them, heating them to the core. Then she tossed her head gently, her forelock falling into her eyes, and the moment slipped away as quickly as it had come.

He grinned and let her head onto his withers so she didn't have to hold it up.

She snorted gently. "I was eating, by the way." she commented, the attitude back in her voice. She looked around at him, flicking one teardrop-shaped ear.

"Fine well i'll just go back!!" He turned around with a stomp and walked off toward the doones. He thought this was going to be the perfect non attitude day ever... Guess not.

She rolled her eyes gently, and went back to grazing. Then she picked up her head, and looked across the fields. They seemed endless. She turned and bolted, enjoying the feel of the air rolling over her skin, whipping out her mane. She put her tail up and ran even faster, letting out a cry of exhiliration that was taken by the wind. Before she knew it, she had come to the river that made up the edge of the territory. She stopped, dropping her head to gulp down the cold water. She had a little sweat coating her chest from the run, but that was it.

Shaton was worried. He tried not to wake the foals'.

Starlight blinked her eyes open, and yawned. "Pa, what's wrong?" she asked sleepily. Moonlight just kept snoring away.


Lady Luck trotted into the cover of the fruit trees, munching on the sweet grass below them. She looked up at the now-purple sky. The sun would set in the next 10 minutes. She loved the sunset. It was so beautiful. She stood facing the west, watching the un start its decent.

"She'll come back, don't worry.' Starlight said, shifting. "I know she will. And if she doesnt after sunset, you could go find her."

Lady Luck Wacthed as the sun kissed the edge of the earth, ears pricked up. She lay down beneathe a cherry tree, still watching. The gold sky made her coat a golden brown. She watched it sink lower and lower, intil the only light left was the light blue horizon. She nibbled on the grass around her as the moon shone and the stars started to come out. Then she stood, slowly walking back to the meadows, towards the dunes. The cool night air relaxed her, and she enjoyed walking under the stars. All traces of the sunste were gone.
