Raven sat down and gave the small pup a quick glance before looking back at Sweeney. "Then perhaps you should stop hiding up here and go meet your new granddaughter." she told him calmly even as her muscles tensed to leap if he showed any sign of aggression.

He looked at her.My...?He gasped softly. He got up slowly and drifted over to the stairs. He hesitated on the staircase.

Raven took a step forward and snatched Baron before he could take off after Sweeney and held him firmly in her strong jaws. She turned and saw him standing at the top of the staircase. She let out a soft chuffing sound and walked past him, bounding down the stairs. She took Baron to the twins' room and shut the door then swiftly padded to Johanna and Anthony's room just in case something happened.

Sweeney slowly crept down the stairs. His foot hit a squeaky step and he quickly withdrew his foot, listening to see if anyone heard.

Rosetta murmured something in her sleep, but other than that she didn't move other than to rub at her teary eyes before going still again.

Raven heard the squeak from her spot just inside the doorway of Johanna and Anthony's room and sighed when she realized he hadn't even reached the bottom of the stairs yet. What did he expect? Someone to attack him for coming down the stairs? she thought.

Sweeney got the rest of the way down the stairs and happened to walk past Rosetta. He stopped and moved towards her, taking in her tear stained face and disheveled look. He sat on the floor and just looked at her, momentarily distracted.

Rosetta shivered in her sleep and wrapped her arms around her chest. She let out a small whimper and turned onto her side. "Sweeney...I'm s-sorry..." she murmured in her sleep as another shiver passed through her. A few fresh tears fell from her closed eyes.

Sweeney couldn't watch anymore. He reached out an arm and shook her gently.Rosetta, wake up.

Rosetta woke up the moment she felt something touch her. Her eyes widened when she saw Sweeney and she opened her mouth as if she were going to say something, but quickly shut it again. It was as if she were afraid that if she spoke he would leave.

Sweeney looked at her. Normally she would say something by now.Are you okay?

Rosetta's eyes only seemed to get bigger. She met his eyes and nodded slowly, stunned.

Sweeney made a frustrated sound.Please talk to me.He murmered.

"Uh...um...Have you seen your new granddaughter yet?" Rosetta asked hurriedly only to clamp her mouth shut. She suddenly became worried that that was the wrong thing to say.

Sweeney shook his head.Thats why I came down.He said.

Rosetta nodded. "Shall I go with you or do you want me to stay here?" she asked him quietly.

Ill go.He said. He turned away and then turned back.I'm so sorry.He mumbled.

Tears flooded Rosetta's eyes when Sweeney apologized to her. She started to shake her head, sending her bright red hair flying. "No...please don't apologize. It's all my fault! I should have told you...I-I was foolish and I'm ashamed of what I've done. You trusted me and I let you down. I let everyone one down..." she sobbed, dropping her head into her hands.

He stepped forward and gathered her into his arms.It's all over now.

Rosetta clung to him and sobbed into his chest. Her entire body shook. "I-I'm so sorry..." she choked out as her sobs finally slowed down.

He kissed the top of her hair and rubbed her back soothingly.

Rosetta finally stopped crying and leaned heavily against Sweeney's chest. "I'm so sorry...please forgive me..." she mumbled.

Sweeney idly played with her hair.I forgave you already. I just didn't forgive myself.He murmered.

Rosetta didn't pull away from where she leaned against him, but her eyed filled with confusion. "But...you did nothing wrong..." she whispered.

He sighed, his chest gently rising and falling.I made you cry. More me that is a thousand sins.

Rosetta shook her head as she buried her face in his chest. "I d-deserved it. I lied to you..." she told him, her voice muffled.
