Anthony used the doctors calm to enable him to walk fast instead of run.

The doctor followed quickly.

Anthony finally reached the front door of the house and fumbled for the keys. Finally he unlocked the door with a trembling hand.

Rosetta heard the door unlock and with a quick glance at Johanna she took off towards the front of the house. The moment she saw the doctor she grabbed his arm and led him to the room. The doctor went inside and gently closed the door behind him after asking Rosetta to wait outside.

Johanna lay back against the pillows. Her hair stuck to her sweaty forehead. In her arms she held a small bundle.

The doctor had just finished up and had already packed his bag. He opened the door and turned to face Rosetta and Anthony. "You can go and see her now, but make sure she gets plenty of rest for the next few days." he told them, a small smile on his tired, old face before he left them and headed back to the small doctor's office where he worked.

Anthony rushed over to Johanna and sat on the edge of the bed, looking into the face of their little daughter.

Rosetta moved to stand in the doorway to the room, a small smile on her face despite the pain that had filled her eyes. She wished Sweeney was with her to see his new granddaughter and she wished he would be happy for his daughter and son-in-law. She also wished he would speak to her. Every time she was around him the silence felt like it was destroying a part of her.

Sweeney sat upstairs. He looked terrible in every way possible. Deep, dark shadows lined his eyes, the shade of his face had dropped to white and he was the thinnest he had ever been. He hated not talking to Rosetta. But his trust was golden these days, and it really hurt him that she had kept it from him.

"Congratulations." Rosetta told the two new parents, a slightly forced smile crossing her face before she turned and quickly went down the hall. She found her way to the living room and curled up on the couch. She felt close to tears and because of that she felt disgusted with herself. It had been her fault that Sweeney wouldn't talk to her. If she hadn't kept what she knew from him none of this would have happened.

Once the screams disappeared Baron poked his head out from under the twins where they were curled up around him, his little black nose twitching like crazy. He squirmed out from under the two sleeping boys and glanced over at the large cat who was laying only a few inches away. He let out a little woof before padding out of the room and down the hall. He spotted the stairs and when he was sure no one was watching he started to climb. The woman with the bright red hair had scolded him every time he tried to go upstairs and curiosity was getting the better of him. He scrambled up the steps. Even though he had grown a lot over the past few months he still had trouble with the steps. He sat down with a loud huff when he reached the top, his tongue lolling out the side of his mouth as he looked around.

Sweeney lifted his head. Someone was coming. He threw a razor at the door. It connected with a loud thud, nearly going through the door.

Baron let out a shocked yelp when he heard a thud against a nearby door. He pinned his ears back and looked back down the stairs before looking back at the door. His curiosity finally won and he pressed his belly against the floor and crawled towards the door. A small whimper escaped him when he was about an inch from the door and he let out a small yip.

Sweeney sighed. It was just the dog. He walked over and opened the door.[

Baron jumped when the door opened, but when he looked up and saw Sweeney his tail started to wag. He stood up straight and padded into the room. He nearly reached the man's knees in height. He let out a little yip and sat at Sweeney's feet, his tongue lolling out as he looked up at him.

He sat down cross legged on the floor and absentmindedly stroked the dogs ears.What am I do do?He wondered out loud.

Baron leaned into the touch, his tail wagging like crazy. When he heard Sweeney talk he let out a small, happy yip. Ever since he had smelled blood fill the house the man had rarely spoke to anyone. He was happy to hear the man's voice and he liked being around him.

Sweeney sighed.You need to learn to talk.He smirked at the pup. His chats with Raven had creeped him out, but he enjoyed the company.

Baron tilted his head in a confused look at Sweeney's words. Talk? he thought. He let out a little yip and dropped to the ground, rolling onto his back.

Sweeney rubbed his belly, smiling for the first time in months.

Baron squirmed in excitement as Sweeney rubbed his belly. He let out little yips when he saw the man smiling.

Raven lifted her head from where she was curled around the twins when she heard Baron yip. Her eyes widened when she realized the sound was upstairs. She carefully stood up and pulled a blanket over the sleeping boys. The large panther padded swiftly and quietly down the hall, noticing that Rosetta had fallen asleep on the couch. The tear streaks were obvious on the sleeping woman's face. She shook her head and reached the stairs quickly bounding up them, taking several stairs at a time. She reached the door and grabbed the handle in her mouth. She twisted in and pulled back, opening it. She stood in the doorway and her eyes widened at the sight before her, stunned. The puppy was on his back and Sweeney was petting him with a smile on his face.

Sweeney looked up, his eyes darkening.Not a word, cat. Not one word.

Raven saw the look in Sweeney's eyes and her ears went back. She flicked her tail towards the pup. "I was simply coming to get the pup." she told him, moving forward to grab Baron. Her voice was oddly feminine coming from the large cat.

Sweeney dropped his arms.Fine. Why?He mumbled.

"Rosetta told me not to let him bother you." Raven told him. "She thinks you want to be left alone."

Baron let out a little yip when he saw Raven, but he moved closer to Sweeney.

He grimaced.I don't know if I still feel the same wayHe muttered.
