Engel squeaked, and whirled around to face the man. He was going to take him away from Micah? He snorted angrily, and planted his hooves in the soft earth. He wasn't going anywhere without his boy.

The old man sighed and shook his head. "We need to get them further from the track before the next race starts. Is there any way we can move the boy into the barn with the horse?" he asked the medic. The other man seemed to think about it for a long time before nodding. "Lead the way." he told the man. "Bring the rider." he told the two men that were helping him, who moved carefully to lift Micah. The older man turned to the stallion and tugged on the lead. "Come on boy. Your rider's coming with you."

Engel listened closely to the conversation, overjoyed that his boy would be coming with them. He stood stock still until the lifted Micah, and then began walking quickly toward the stables, tugging on the lead rope. (Bleh. Failure.)

The man moved to stay at Engel's speed. Once they reached the barn he led the stallion to a large vacant stall with a deep bedding of straw. The two men carried the boy in and carefully laid him down on one side of the stall. The medic came in and covered him with another blanket, telling him not to move around for at least a couple of more hours before heading out of the barn. The older man shut the stall door and left with the other men.

Engel was slightly nervous as he was led into the stall. He didn't like it, because he felt trapped. But before he could turn around and try to escape, the men brought in Micah and set him in the straw. Engel forgot his fear, and stepped over to his boy once the man shut the stall door and left with the others. He lowered himself into the straw, and shifted slightly to make himself more comfortable. THen he gently nosed the boy. He nickered softly, and laid his head lightly on Micah's stomach. He figured his boy was cold, since he already had two blankets on him. He closed his eyes, and nickered again.

Micah laughed softly when he felt Engel lay his head on his stomach. He pulled his hand from under the blanket and rubbed the stallion's muzzle. "Sorry about this boy." he apologized softly.

Engel grunted softly, enjoying the attention he was getting. When Micah apologized, he raised his head slightly, and gave him a stern look, and snorted, before settling his head back onto his boy's middle. It wasn't Micah's fault. It was his for over doing it. He snorted again, before licking the boy's hand.

Micah paused when Engel lifted his head, his eyes widening at the stern look from him. He laughed softly at when he felt him lick his hand and patted the horse on the head. "Well at least we know that you're faster than the new racers." he told him happily before yawing.

Engel grunted contentedly, and shifted again. At Micah's comment, he would've grinned had he been able to. He nickered, and nuzzled him lighlty. When his boy yawned, he snuggled closer, though tried not to squash him. He wanted his boy to be warm if he fell asleep. (D'aaaaw)

Micah laughed as he nuzzled him and moved closer. The boy yawned again and moved a little closer to the stallion as he pulled the blankets up around him tighter.

When Micah moved closer, Engel would've smile if it was possible. He grunted softly, before beginning to drift off into sleep.

Micah smiled softly and yawned. It wasn't long before he was sleeping soundly.

Engel kept himself awake until he knew Micah was asleep. He then settled himself more into the straw, and drifted off into dreamland.
