Rosetta finally looked up at Sweeney and her eyes were filled with pain. "I killed my fiance. He was innocent and I murdered him. I don't deserve anything." she protested.

Rosetta put her head back in her hands, her bright red hair falling to cover her face. "I could have run away. I saw that they were all drunk. I could have run away." she cried.

He walked over and knelt beside her, pausing uncertainly before gently putting his arm around her waist.It's over now.

Rosetta turned and wrapped her arms around Sweeney's waist like a child, crying against his chest.

He stiffened in surprise, then put his arms.around her and leaned his head against hers. He closed his eyes and sighed.He felt absolutely wrong doing this, but there was a part, way way way way down at the bottom of his heart that enjoyed this.

Rosetta felt his arms wrap around her and hugged him tighter. She felt safer in his arms than she had in years.

He felt her arms tighten and stiffened ever so slightly. His breathing quickened as he pulled away slightly. He couldn't handle this yet.

Rosetta felt him pull away and let go quickly. She sat up and looked at her hands. "I'm sorry." she mumbled.

He looked down.It's not you. Just... I...He cleared his throat.

Rosetta looked down at her hands before lifting her head up and giving him a small smile. "It's fine." she said, trying to sound cheerful.

I'm not the best person to be around.

Rosetta looked at Sweeney and shook her head. "It doesn't matter." she told him.

He sighed in frustration. His fingers automatically reached out to take his razor.

Rosetta jumped, startled, when she saw him grab the razor. Her hand instinctively rising to protect her throat.

He looked at her, and his mouth fell open. He put his blade down and reached his hands out to her, at the same time Mrs. Lovett walked into his shop.

Rosetta jumped when she heard the door open and looked up to see Mrs. Lovett. "Hi. I was wondering where you went. I'm sorry I fell asleep." she told the woman easily, giving her an easy smile. She was acting as if nothing had happened, but her mind was going crazy.

Mrs Lovett stared at her. She was still alive. Wow. She looked at Mr Todd.I need to talk to you.

Rosetta looked from Mrs. Lovett to Sweeney. "I'll leave so you two can talk. Do you mind if I stay for the night? I promise I won't bother you. Maybe I can help out with your shop." she said to Mrs. Lovett as she stood up. She was happy she could put a little weight on her ankle, but it still hurt and it made her unsteady as she moved towards the door.

Mrs lovett nodded and, smilked at her.of course you can, dear.

Rosetta smiled brightly at Mrs. Lovett before opening and shutting the door behind her. She moved as quickly as she could down the stairs and collapsed in a chair in Mrs. Lovett's shop. She put her head in her hands and tried to sort out her chaotic thoughts.

Mrs. Lovett turned to Sweeney.That girl has got to go! Why is she still alive?She hissed. Sweeney glared at her.She's not bothering me.

Rosetta leaned back in the chair and sighed. She knew she would have to leave. She had to keep running. Her fiance's ghost hadn't found her in years and the only reason he had found her this time was because she had stayed in the same town for more than a day.

She growled in frustration.How can we trust her?
