Rosetta jumped when she heard arguing and then something hit the wall. She looked over at the door wondering if she should just stay where she was or not.

I'm not scared of you! He turned and walked out the room, slamming the door.

Rosetta flinched at the sound of the door slamming. She stood up and moved towards the door, but hesitated. She wasn't sure if she should do anything. She was a stranger after all.

Sweeney stalked down the stairs, his long stride making it a little difficult. He strolled to where Rossetta was, turned, closed the door and threw himself down in a chair, muttering angrily. Such pure rage had never been shown on a human's face before.

Rosetta took a step back from Sweeney, almost wincing from the level of anger in his aurora. She shook her head slightly and moved over to stand near him, kneeling beside the chair. "Is everything okay?" she asked quietly, afraid to anger him more.

He calmed with effort.Yes

Rosetta looked at the door to the street. "I'll leave as soon as the sun is up. I'm sorry that I made you and Mrs. Lovett argue." she told him, looking down at her hands.

His head snapped to her direction.Youre leaving? Why? He tried to hide the sadness in his voice.

Rosetta didn't look up. "I made Mrs. Lovett mad. I'm nothing but trouble, and my fiance knows where I am. Nothing good happens when he finds me." she whispered.

Rosetta finally looked up at Sweeney, tears brimming in her eyes. She wasn't used to being so emotional, but she couldn't help it. "But...what if he hurts you?" she whispered. Shocked by how much it terrified her that Sweeney might be hurt. She barely even knew him.

Sweeney had a shocked look on his.face. He slowly moved towards her, cupping her neck.between his hands he leant in as if to kiss her, but with his mouth not an inch from hers he drew up short, and rested his forehead on hers. Nothing could hurt me more than the thought of him catching you.

The tears fell from Rosetta's eyes and she leaned against Sweeney, wrapping her arms around him.

He buried his nose in her hair. He had to protect this girl. He just had to. She reminded him of his dear sweet Lucy. He closed his eyes as they threatened to tear up. He would not cry. And bit by bit, the eternal sadness swept over him and he shook with the effort he was making to control himself.

Rosetta buried her face against Sweeney's chest, trying to stop crying. She felt him shaking and tightened her arms around him.

He calmed down slightly. Mrs Poverty took that moment to burst in. Sweeneys head shot up and he pushed Rosetta away from him and stood up. Mrs Poverty walked up to him and put her.arms around him, seemingly oblivious.

Rosetta sat on the ground, stunned. She wiped the tears from her eyes and looked up at Sweeney in confusion.

His face didn't change as she kissed his cheek. She was seriously pushing her luck. The stone walls around his heart began to reform.

Rosetta watched as she kissed his cheek and her eyes filled with tears when he did nothing to stop her. She instantly felt foolish. To Sweeney she must just be a stranger who just happened to show up. She had made the mistake of thinking he felt something for her, because of his words. She was an idiot. She stood up and ran to the door. She nearly crashed into a couple of men when she ran out of the door and down the street. She wasn't paying attention to where she was going, but it didn't matter.

Sweeney looked after her and made a move to go after her, but Mrs Lovett did something that he had never expected. She kissed him, full on. His body went limp with surprise, but his mind was.racing saying what the hell over and over again.

Rosetta continued to run. She was finally getting closer to the edge of town. She stopped in an alley and wrapped her arms around her waist as she struggled to regain her breath. She leaned against the wall and couldn't help the sob that escaped her. She should have known he couldn't love her, just like everyone else.

He managed to get out of her arms and walked out of the door. Standing there, he yelled her name.Rosetta!!!

Rosetta jerked her head up at the faint sound of her name. She almost thought it was her fiance but then she recognized the voice. Another sob escaped her. She shook her head. She wanted to go back, but she knew she would be foolish for doing so. It was obvious to her that Sweeney had feelings for Mrs Lovett.

His face was panicked. He didn't want her to get hurt. He started walking quickly down the direction that she had run.

Rosetta heard footsteps getting closer to where she was. She turned and ran down the alley, stumbling and knocking over a few old boxes. She fell backwards when she suddenly crashed into a group of men on the other street. They were obviously on their way home from a bar, the strong smell of beer on their breath. They turned towards her and a couple of them laughed at her. She was immediately reminded of the night she killed her fiance. She looked up at them fearfully, to terrified to move.
