Rome's arms tightened around China protectively. "I won't let anyone touch you or our child." he told her gently, his voice filled with love. He looked at Silva. "Please don't tell the Hunters about her or the child. Please Silva. I haven't asked you to do anything like this ever. Please." his voice was desperate.

Silva looked at his friend and pushed his hands through his long hair, destroying his tight braid. He was struggling between his loyalty to the Hunters and his loyalty to Rome. He couldn't help but remember the reason he had stayed in the Hunters group. He could still see his wife's body on the floor of the warehouse where they had cornered one of their targets, a male vampire. Her throat had been brutally ripped out and she had been lying in a pool of her own blood. He shuddered as the image flashed in his mind and he looked up at Rome and China, his eyes filled with pain. It was hard for him to decide what to do. "I'll remain silent." he finally told them.

China looked down. She hated to see anybody in pain, after years of relishing it she wondered how... she shuddered. She looked at Rome and then at Silva and opened her mouth to say something when something moved in her stomach. She made a small, almost inaudible gasp and held her still flat stomach with her hand. Vampire children grow extremely fast and pregnancy spans are usually about a month, give or take a few days. She looked up again. Rome...

Rome glanced down at China and saw her hand on her stomach. He carefully laid his hand next to hers and gasped when he felt movement. Sudden tears of relief started pouring down his face as he looked up at Silva. "Thank you Silva, thank you." he told his friend, as he pulled China against his chest.

Silva looked at Rome and China, a sad smile on his lips. He barely heard Rome as he turned and walked quickly out of the hideout, only pausing to comand Thistle to stay. He walked out and jumped onto one of the boulders near the entrance. He sat there with his head in his hands. He hadn't been reminded of that night since the last time he had been out with the Hunters. They had just gotten married and were expecting their first child when they had both been called in for the job. He could still remember how his heart broke as he held her in his arms before his other teammates had dragged him away after they had killed the vampire.

China reached her hand up and placed it on his cheek, turning her head to kiss him gently before looking down and tucking her hair behind her ear. We have to go to my brother. He'll know what to do.

Rome nodded and kissed China softly before turning to get a black t-shirt out of a dresser. "How do we get there?" he asked her as he pulled it over his head.

China took a seed from her pocket. It looked like a piece of glass. She spread her fingers and it hovered over her hand. She then made weird motions with her hands, like she was opening a jar, and threw the seed at the ground. A tall oak tree immediately blossomed. Run as fast as you can towards it.

Rome stared wide eyed at the tree then at China. "What?" he asked. He felt panic and realized it was coming from Senshi. The huge horse was rearing up and Thistle, growling, was darting away from his flailing hooves after running away from the tree.

Just run. She ran towards the tree as fast as a blur, disappearing right before collision. She came out in a large house. A slim man sat at a desk, writing checks. His hair was white -blonde and fell over his startlingly green eyes.

Rome hesitated and glanced at the two frightened demons before running at the tree, closing his eyes and expecting to hit the hard trunk. He opened his eyes in surprise when he didn't collide with the tree and stumbled as he passed through it.

China caught Rome and steadied him. She nodded towards the blonde man.Hello, brother. The man turned and got up with a smile. China! China went and hugged him. He was quite tall. She waved her hand at Rome.This is Rome.

Rome followed China and stood beside her, tense. "Nice to meet you." he told her brother. He was surprised by how tall he was. Rome was tall, but he was obviously shorter than her brother.

The man walked towards Rome. He leaned in close and then muttered So you think you're good enough for my sister, hm? China was behind him and shoved her elbow inti his ribs.Lucah. I don't know about Rome but I am really tired. Give me the key. Lucah looked at china and handed her a set of golden keys on a dangling key chain. China picked one and went over to a small, golden door. She thought for a minute, turned the lock and opened the door, which was now stretched full size. Inside was a luxury bedroom. She looked at Rome. You tired? Lucah stood against a wall, watching Rome. He was very protective of his little sister.

"Of course I don't. She deserves a lot more." Rome mumbled as he kept an eye on Lucah, not moving. "A little." he told China quietly.

She laid a hand on his arm and gave Lucah a warning look before disappearing into the bedroom. She fell asleep almost immediately. Lucah nodded.You'll do.He walked over to his desk and picked up the papers, stacking them neatly.So, why did she bring you here, hm?

Rome watched China leave before looking at Lucah. He shifted from foot to foot, suddenly nervous at Lucah's question. "I'd perfer to have that conversation when China is in the room if you don't mind. I think she knows more about it than I do." he told her brother.

He nodded.We'll talk about it in the morning. Goodnight, Rome. He walked away into the shadows.

Rome watched him go before entering the room where China was sleeping. He walked up to the bed and bent down to kiss her forehead gently. "You're brother scares me a little." he whispered, a small smile on his face as he watched her sleep.

In her sleep she pulled Rome down next to her. She wrapped her arms around him and buried her head in his shoulder.

Rome yelped in surprise as he was pulled down onto the bed, but smiled when he realized China was still asleep. He chuckled quietly and kicked his black boots off before pulling a thick blanket up over both of them. He wrapped his arms around China and buried his face in her hair, breathing in her scent.

The next morning

China woke up. She lay there for a moment and then tried to pull herself up. A sharp pain seared across her stomach and she fell back down with a small Oh. She got up more slowly and went over to the door, glancing at herself sideways on the way. She stopped and did a double take, and then smiled and swiveled her torso to see, at various angles, the small, rounded bump. A happy tear slid down her cheek.

Rome stretched his arm out on the bed and a troubled look crossed his sleeping face when he found the bed empty. He slowly started to wake up, blinking tired eyes. "China?" he mumbled, moving to sit up so he could look around.

She walked over and crawled onto the bed, going to kneel next to Rome. She settled her hands over the small bump and beamed at Rome.

Rome smiled sleepily at China and rubbed his eyes. He looked down at her stomach where she held her hands. His eyes widened in surprise at the small bump. "What the...?" he gasped in surprise.

China smiled.They grow quickly, hm? She took one of his hands and layed it next to hers. The baby suddenly kicked his hand.
