She smiled at him. She suddenly noticed that she had never seen his left eye, and pushed the hair out of his face. She gasped softly when she saw the scar.

Rome closed his eyes and leaned his head back in the blankets. He felt China push his hair out of his face and heard her gasp, his eyes snapping open immediatly. He instantly untangled himself from her and sat on the edge of the bed, letting his black hair fall back in his eyes.

She moved silently to kneel behind him and put both of her hands on one shoulder.Rome?

Rome turned his head away, his hand reaching up to trace the scar. "It...It's nothing." he told her.

Please, Rome. Don't you think you can trust me?She put her arms around his waist and her chin on his shoulder.

Rome sighed, he reached up and rubbed her arms gently. "It's not that I don't trust you. It's just not a happy reminder." he told her quietly.

She closed her eyes and moved in front of him. Sitting on his lap she traced the scar and then snuggled into him.Where were we?

Rome flinched slightly as she traced the scar. He gave her a small smile when she snuggled against him and he wrapped his arms around her. He rested his cheek against her hair, closing his eyes to hide the haunted look in them.

She closed her eyes and sighed. She fit perfectly into his lap, as if they were made for each other.

Rome dipped his head down and kissed China lightly on the cheek. He hadn't felt this peaceful since he was a kid.

She smiled up at him, her eyes glittering. Suddenly, a smooth, cold voice spoke behind her.China.China froze, her body numb with shock.

Rome's body tensed as he heard a voice. Silva had been the only one to know of the hideout and the voice wasn't his father's. He silently reached under the mattress and grabbed the knife under it, holding his hand still, waiting for whoever it was to make the first move.

Fletcher stepped out of the shadows. His black hair fell over his grey eyes, and he moved with impeccable grace. He narrowed his eyes.China, why are you with this human?
He is not a human.She replied.You're mine.
I'm not.
You ARE. He growled, taking a step towards Rome.Get away from my mate.

Rome stood up and gripped the knife in his hand tightly, pushing China behind him. "Get out of my home. It's obvious she doesn't have the same feelings for you." he growled.

He smiled at the knife.You think you can hurt me, human?He looked around, then, faster than the eye could see, he darted toward China's gun, snatched it up, darted back and pointed it at Rome's head.

Rome froze. He saw a silver flash and the sword on the pile of Silva's clothes dissappeared. The next thing he knew his friend was standing behind the strange man, the long silver blade pressed against the man's throat. "Pull the trigger and you won't have a chance to regret it. This blade has killed more vampire's than I care to count." Silva whispered in the man's ear, his voice venomous.

The man didn't panick. He was amused.And who are you?

Silva snarled. "I could ask you the same." he retorted. He pulled the blade tighter to the vampire's throat. "What do you want?" Rome asked, standing protectively in front of China, eyes on the gun pointed his direction.

The vampire didn't answer. In one smooth movement, he swung the gun down into Silva's leg, and fired.

Silva cried out and fell to his knees, holding onto his leg, eyes wide. Rome immeadiately threw the knife, aiming at the man's chest. He risked a glance at his friend and noticed there wasn't any blood on the floor.

China screamed. The man flicked himself to the side, missing the knife by millimeters. He darted towards China, pulling his dagger out and holding it up to her throat.

Rome spun and froze when he saw the dagger at China's throat. "Let her go!" he snarled. There was a flash and the dagger was thrown to the far side of the room. "Just kidding." Silva laughed, standing in the same place he'd been moments before. His eyes were a liquid silver instead of their normal green. His gloves were on the ground and his tattoos glowed on his hands. Rome took his chance and muttered the shifting spell as he leaped at the man, changing into a black panther again. He snarled, his claws extended as he sailed over China and grabbed the man's shoulders with his paws. Throwing them both away from China and onto the floor.

The man snarled and wrapped his arms around Rome, squeezing him tight and trying to break his ribs.

Rome yowled, struggling violently, digging his claws into the man. Out of no where, two huge hooves came crashing down near the man's and Rome's head. Senshi's scream rang in Rome's sensitive cat ears and he muttered the shifting spell, turning into a black snake. He slithered out of the man's grip and coiled ready to strike, just as the stallion reared back up. Silva darted over and grabbed China's arm, pulling her away from the fight. He hated vampires, but he wasn't about to let someone his friend loved be hurt. "Are you alright?" he asked quickly.

The man rolled away from the horse and the snake. Yes!Said China. She darted round Silva and ran towards Fletcher, at the same time he did the same thing. They jumped and met in the air, resulting in a huge bang. They both fell to the ground.
