She curled up and watched the spot he had disappeared, waiting for him to finish, and come back.

Lover bounded back,skidding into the spot where he had been moments ago.Two large squirrells hung from his jaws.He dropped them,smiling lightly."I've already eaten a little on the way back.I thought you might like something."

She smiled softly, sat6 up, and quickly ate some. When she was done, she gently started licking his cheek, eyes soft. 'Thank you.' She said gently. She curled up again, and yawned, looking up at him. her tail tip [patted gently on the ground.

He licked her cheek softly back before taking a bite from the squirrell and licking his lips.He laid down and quickly finished the squirrel.Lover's eyes had returned to a light blue as he stared at her,his tail swishing over the ground.

"Since i figured out your secret, you should know mine..." she said quietly, dropping her chin onto his shoulder, eyes clouded with shame.

He pulled back and pressed his nose gently against her's comfortingly.Their noses still touching,he stares into her eyes with love and care.Not saying anything,just sitting there with his nose pressed to her's.

She sighed, and paused. "I have borne pups. And i also killed them." she said quietly, her voice loud in the silence, despite her hushed tone. She looked away, memories that she had tried so long to evade flooding back. The black wolf... The birth, and the death.. She felt horrible again.

He stepped forward and placed his head on her neck."Before I restricted myself to forest animals,I killed a wolf almost every other day.I understand." Lover nuzzled her gently,his face pressed into her warm neck fur.

'but its different." she said softly. "He built my trust, and then hurt me, impregnated me, and broke the trust he had built. I gave birth, killed my own pups, and ran before he could come back from hunting. You know, he shut me in a cave. The whole time i was pregnant. he left to hunt, and came back, always making sure to trap me in that hole."

"Never.Never will that happen to you.Not while I'm here."He lifted his head and stared into her eyes,eyes lit and dancing with detication."And seeing as I'm immortal,I'm gonna be here a while."His voice was strong and radiated courage and confidence.

She relaxed slightly, but closed her eyes, snuggling closer to him. "But im not.' she murmured softly.

He snuggled close to her,his voice so quiet it was almost inaudiable."We can fix that."He adjusted his mouth so that it was closed but the huge fangs stuck out the side.Lover was inwardly cursing himself,but he knew he had more control this time.He could do it.The soulmate principle flashed through his head for a split second before he shoved it away.

She didnt move, barely breathing. Her eyes fluttered closed, and she relaxed, feeling his boidy close beside her. She trusted him wholely. But she had trusted the other too. And he had betrayed her. She pushed away the thought.

"Whatever you want Singer.It's up to you."He shivered once and his fangs receeded untill they were his normal canines.He adjusted his mouth,hiding them. Lover stayed beside her,not moving.He was holding his breath,he realised,and let it out slowly.

"I want to be with you forever."Then she leaned into his body for warmth, closed her eyes, and fell asleep.

Lover nodded tensely and wrapped around her gently,the sound of her breathing lulling him into a slight doze.As he dreampt,the words'I want to be with you forever' flashed. through his mind.Pictures of blood spilled everywhere and him standing over a limp carcass.Singer's limp carcass.His fur was matted with blood and,his fangs were bared.He was growling madly,but the most disturbing thing was that his eyes were red and glazed over.Lover whined lightly ad woke up,still curled around Singer.He sighed,realising that she was still alive.

She blinked open her eyes. 'Are you okay?" she asked softly, concerned. She lifted her head to look into his eyes.

"Nightmares.It's okay...I'm fine."He didn't meet her eyes,but kept them down."Go back to sleep."Lover laid his head down,but didn't sleep.

She gently started grooming his shoulder instead, closing her eyes as she did.

Lover tucked his head to his chest,his forehead against Singer's side.He sighed deeply."Thank you..."

She laughed. "For what?" she smiled, and then continued grooming hhis shoulder.

"For being...you.For...accepting me,even when you figured out what a monster I am."Lover's voice was quiet as he spoke.He gently nuzzled her side, then turned his head to the sky.His eyes clouded over,lost in thought.

She licked his muzzle, and laughed softly. "Your you. I dont care if your a.. how did you pout it? oh yeah, monster. I still love you." she smiled and rolled onto her back, leaning toward him as she did.

Lover smiled and let her lean on him as he laid his head down to go to sleep.

She smiled as she watched him, and dropped her head gently on his side, sighing in content.
