She chuckled, and rolled to stand up, shaking her dark coat. Then she stood and waited for him to emerge, tensed to pounce again.

Lover sprung,tackling her from the side. He licked her nose and chuckled.

She laughed, and managed to get to her feet. She shook her coat, and left the water, standing on shore. Then there was the loud snap of a gun, and a bellet just barely grazed her shoulder. She growled in fear at the human that was reloading, aiming, and pressed the treigger agin. She swerved, avoiding the bullet by a long shot. "Run, Lover!" she yelled, and took off along the bank of the river, the human cursing and shooting after her, haing not have seen the other wolf.

Lover growled and did the opposite of his full name. He gathered himself and leapt,throwing himself all out into the human. The tall man fell to the ground,but still had his gun.The hewolf didn't notice. Lover snarled in the mans face,standing on his chest.The man smiled and picked up his gun,pressing it against the tri-colored wolf's chest. Lover didn't even have time to react.

Bang.

Singer stopped dead and spun, racing to where the man was. She knew Lover was a Vampire, but she didnt care. The man still shot him. She snarled, landingon the mans chest, and ripped the gun, tossing it aside, puncture marks in the metal from her teeth. She growled, baring her teeth, and felt satisfaction at the fear dawning in the mans eyes.

Lover winced in pain.Yeah,it hurt like hell,but the pain gave him a new rush of adreneline.Lover smiled cockily and stood over the man,laughing at the look on his face when he saw that he wasn't even bleeding.Lover laid down above the man's head,cringing at the pain that it caused.He lowered his head and got a mouthful of long hair and tugged at it,like a cat playing with its kill.Lover wanted this man to suffer for his actions.Nobody hurt his Singer and got away with it.He pulled his head back abruptly,ripping out a large chunk of hair.The wolf spit it out and chewed on the man's crown.

Singer stepped over to lover, and nudged his neck to look at the wound. 'You need rest.' she said gently, voice trembling with the hint of rage.

Lover looked over at the crying man.he simply nodded and stood slowly;it was hard to move his ribs.The hewolf could still feel the cool steel in his flesh,but he could also feel his body starting to heal him,pushing the bullet out slowly."All right.Just do me a favor and try and calm down.Please."Lover pressed his cold wet nose to her's.

She gently tugged on his ear, not wanting to look in the direction of the mans. But as she stepped past the broken gun, she knocked it into the river.

Lover sighed and placed a single paw on the man's windpipe,pressing down sharply.The man died instantly.The vampire nudged Singer and stepped into the river to wash the blood and hair away.

She growled softly at him to sit while he healed, and set about licking her wounds, not being able to heal like the vampire-wolf.

Lover sighed and strecthed over,helping Singer clean her wounds. He dragged his pink tongue genty over the spot where the bullet had grazed her. He tensed slightly as the bullet scooted out a lil farther.

She growled softly as she saw, felt him tense. 'Sit still, for heavens sake." she said, exhasperated.

"I'm fine, just don't worry about me. " Lover protested but obliged, laying down.

"Thank you.' she said, and then continued licking her own wounds, watching Lover.

A few minutes later Lover howled in pain and leapt up, jumping around crazily. "Aiieee!" A smooshed silver bullet dropped fromhis chest, leaving nothing but a small scar. He whimpered and dropped to the ground, scootling over to Singer. "Hai. "

She laughed softly. "All better? Or do I have to kiss it?" Shenudged his paw gently.

He rolled onto his back, the scar facing Singer. "Would you really do that for little old me?" He winked at her and nuzzled her paw with his cold wet nose.

"Uh..' she said, and then smirked. "I'll have to think about it." she said, laying down on her belly.

Lover rolled back over onto his belly and snuggled up to her side. He opened one eye to look up at Singer. "So, are we officially a couple yet or what?"

She rolled over. She looked over at him, and nipped his ear. "Officially? Why so serious?" she laughed softly, and nipped his cheek. "Do you love me enough?' she asked, watching him, eyes dancing.

"laughing? Why so carefree?" Lover chuckled and tickled her belly with his nose. "Singer, if I tried explaining how much I love you, I'd have to get Chuck Norris to help." His smile faded and a serious look dropped over his face. "I just...I don't know if you could ever feel the same since you know what I am. "

"You are a moron." She said, licking his forehead. "But your my moron." she chuckled.

Lover smiled and jumped up to prance around. He just couldn't hold it in! He tipped his head back and howled long and low; then ran over to Singer and licked her face ecstaticly. "I love you! So much!" Lover started running around in circles, going so fast he became just blur.

She sat up and closed her eyes briefly, to stop from getting dizzy. Then she crouched, and pounced, landing on his back and sending him tumbling to the ground.
