Ricky walked down the hallway,he cursed under his breath. "Latigo! Off!"


Latigo hissed through his teeth at Jet,backing up.


Ricky smacked a wip in Jet's stall,a command for up. He grabbed both their halters. [b]"Shut up,I can hear you both from the house. Now say sorry, both of you or you won't see your friends until you do.

Jet stood up and glanced at Ricky, pulling his head away from his grasp.

He snatched it again in warning. "Jet!"

She watched the fight coming to its end. Psh. She never wanted a fight over her. Why should she, when one of the horses might be killed? The thought made her angry, so she turned away.

Jet whinnied and pulled away again. Fright filled his eyes.

He pet him gently,"Shh,it's okay."

He shook his head, pulling away from his hand, as soon as his hand left the halter he was a different horse, completely calm and normal.

He grabbed his halter again,"LATIGO! ROPE."

Latigo grabbed the lead rope off the stall,tossing it to Ricky.

Ricky clipped it on his halter,stroking Jet calmly.

Jet yanked his head free of his hand on the halter then was calm.

Latigo laughed,"Scered?"

Ricky pulled his head,awaring him he was still in Ricky's hands.

Dance felt like screaming at the two stallions Just let Strike decide! Shes the one who has to deal with you two, anyways!

He bared his teeth at Latigo then turned to Dancer, I am not fighting because I want Strike. He threw himself over her and wouldn't leave her be when she said no. He aimed the thought at Dancer, so she was the only one that could hear him.

"Latigo,shut your mouth. And Jet Latigo is a little weird,but I want you two to get along because this is not good bussiness for us. So lets say sorry. Latigo." He grinded his teeth when he said "Latigo".

Latigo sighed,"Sorry Jet, I overreacted."

Jet laughed, "Ya you did, but I am sorry I.. provoked you."

Ricky unclipped the lead,"Thank you. Now,i'm moving Latigo." He led him over to the stall beside Barq.

Dancer rolled her eyes, silently saying to herself, Sure you aren't. She put up a mental wall to keep mind-readers out.

He grinned at the wall and winked at her, bending his head down to eat his food.

She snorted, shaking off the sensation of dejavu. The whole scene reminded her of the racing barn, except the horses here were mostly sane, and could carry out conversation. She snorted, and swung her head out the window, pulling it back in at the rain, ears pinned.

Dancer spotted a puddle. Her mind went straight into a flashback. Dancer was running in the land with her brother. She splashed through a large lake, following him. When she ran out, he never did. She searched franticly for him, but never found him. She woke up after cold water splashed her hooves. She must have been moving, doing what she had when her brother died. She looked down at the water, the only tear dripping down her face hidden by the rain.

Barq didn't seem to notice the tear, "So Strike, telll us about yourself, we all have stories, what's yours?"

She shifted uncomfortably. "That of any other no name racehorse."

He smiled, "You do not have to tell if you would not like to. I used to be a carriage horse, some say the best in England. One day, me and my partner were following another carriage up a hill, something happened and the carrige rolled back and I was stabbed right in the chest by a pole sticking out from the back. I was retired, shipped to America and have been a school horse ever since."

She shook the tear off and pretended that nothing had ever happene, but it was hard.

She nodded silently. She wasn't the best at conversation.

"Mm. Famous guilty. Best western horse alive." Latigo snorted.
