Indigo groaned, then thought again, she took a whistle that she always carried with her, ever heard of a dog whistle? Well, this was a horse whistle, actually Rocky whistle. She blew on it and within 5 minutes she could see Rocky galloping towards them. He saw the situation and carefully jumped into the river, he made sure he had traction on his hooves before walking forward, he snorted and Indigo pulled on the bridle again, Rocky bent down and got his shoulder under Strike's rump. He pushed up, giving her a boost.

She clamboured up and collapsed on her side, trembling violently.

Indigo went to her side, "Easy girl, Easy.." She started t-touch on her neck, trying to calm her down. She examined her body, looking for any cuts or gashes.
Rocky clambored up out of the river. He lay down, tiered himself.

She snortEd, closing her eyes. Her left fore cannon was swollen; she had sprained it. She had a few bruises, but not cuts.

She spotted the swolen leg and bit her lip. "How are we gonna...?" She thought for a moment and looked around, "Okay girl.. just stay here okay. Hmm. your not gonna get up or anything." She stood, her head still throbbing and got Rocky up, "Com on boy." He birders into a full gallop towards the barn.

She slumped to the ground, freezing. It was getting dar' and the temperature was dropping, and she was getting sick.

Rocky ran as fast as he possibly could and reached the barn within a few minutes. Indigo jumped from his back in the middle of a trot and ran to the truck that was connected to a trailer. She turned it on, pulling out quick and driving through the forest on the just wide enough trail. Rocky followed behind the trailer and in five minutes Indigo had reached Strike. She jumped out and opened the ramp, the trailer entrance was only a few yards from Strike. "Come on girl, you just have to get in the trailer." She took hold of Strike's bridle, giving a gentle tug. Rocky came beside Strike, ready to let her use him to lean on as she walked in the trailer.

She clambored to her feet, and bolted up the trailer, collapsing against the wall, shivering violently still. A cough shook her chest.

Rocky went up into the trailer, "If you need it you can lean against me."

She snorted, closing her eyes and feeling the cold in her bones.

Indigo sped off towards the barn. She got there and quickly grabbed two blankets and ran back to the trailer, she went inside and pulling out towles she dried the two off quickly. She put the blankets on them and opened the ramp. She slowly led Strike to a warm stall, Rocky walked next to Strike, there for her support should she need it.

She hopped in on three legs, still leaning on Rocky from sheer weakness.

Indigo walked into the tack room and made a nice hot bran mash, she added in some rescue remedies to help with shock and pain and then grabbed a leg wrap. She walked back to the stall, setting down the mash for Strike, then wrapped her swollen leg.

She slowly ate the mash, shivering still. When her leg was wrapped, she lay down, too tired to stand.

Indigo sat down beside her, stroking her face gently.

Ricky came back slowly,coming towards them,"Indigo. I need to speak with you. It's about the race."

Indigo got up gently, giving Strike another soft pat on her neck and walked over to Ricky. "Yes?"

Strikes eyes widened, and she attempted to get up. Halfway, she collapsed again, snorting and slumping in the straw, watching Indigo.

Indigo turned to face Strike, "Easy girl, it's okay I'm right here."

She snorted, watching her.

Indigo looked at her and smiled then turned back to Ricky, waiting to hear the news.
