Denis hopped out of his truck and walked into the side door of the trailer. He decided to ready Daioh in his trailer. He braided, groomed and tacked Daioh up. He walked out and put his number on his jacket. They were called to start jumping and Denis got up on his horse. The bell rang and Daioh took off at a gentle rocking canter, he knew the drill, 20meter circle, Daioh turned twords the first jump, excitement quivered under his big muscles. He soared up and took the 5 and a half foot jump perfectly. He continued on, clearing each jump with ease. The last jump, this one reached a little over six feet, but Daioh wasn't fazed, he flew over it, landing he made another twenty meter circle and he trotted, then walked.


"And the winner is.... Denis.. on Daioh!!!" A judge pinned a big blue ribbon to Daioh's bridle and he took a victory lap around the arena. Denis smiled and patted his horse. He thanked the judge for the check and opened it up to see the amount of money 1,000 dollars!! "Yes! This will be enough to pay for Diamond and Daioh to stay full board!" he grinned at Daioh and kissed his muzzle, "Thank you boy." he whispered into Daioh's ear.

Two girls hopped from the grandstands and came running towards them. It was cassie and Lee. They both practically crashed into Denis, grinning as the hugged him. "COngrats!" Cassie laughed. Lee turned and patted Daioh. "Good job."

Daioh held his head high letting the blue ribbon flow in the breeze, he whinnyed and put his head back down, nuzzling them both. Denis smiled, "Thanks."

Lee smiled. "You guys were awesome!" Cassie nodded.

Daioh nodded his head up and down and Denis laughed at him, "Thanks guys, but Daioh did all the work." Again Daioh nodded his head up and down.

They laughed Lee patting his neck. Cassie smiled.

"I'm thinking of doing the six bar next week, you think we're ready? With a little training of course."

"If you want. I've entered one next week, its got a few six bars. Your lucky Night pulled up lame today, or I'd be training." She joked. Cassie rolled her eyes. "So what' do you say to getting out of here?"

"I say Let's go!" He smiled.

Cassie laughed, and led the way in the direction of the exit.

Daioh walked without being led, next to Denis, Denis turned and kissed the big stallion, "Good job boy." Denis walked towards his trailer and untacked Daioh and took out his braids really quick before stepping out the side door.

Lees silver Suzuki was parked close to his car, Lee sitting in drivers seat, the dogs in the back.

"Meet yall at the stable?" Denis jumped in his truck and rolled the window down.

Lee grinned devilishly, and cassie frowned. "No. Its not a race. You've got a horse, and you've got two dogs." Lee sighed, and grumbled something. "See you soon." Cassie said, climbing into shot gun and shutting the door. Once they were both buckled, Lee sped from the parking lot, noticeably slowing down when Cassie started yelling.

Denis laughed and followed the car.

They soon pulled through the gate and back onto the property. Lee parked next to cassies pick up, and shut off the engine, getting out.

Denis pulled up shortly after, he jumped out of his truck and let down the ramp in the back. Daioh backed out and walked himself over to a hose and waited there. Denis smiled and hosed him down, he turned Daioh out in a pasture then went and took a quick shower, he got dressed and came back over to Cassie and Lee. "Alright, What now?"

The dogs were tearing through the courtyard, play-fighting. Cssie smiled. "I have an idea." She unlocked her truck. The dogs automatically jumped into the bed, flopping down. Lee got into the backseat, leaving the shotgun seat for denis

Denis got in and looked at the other two girls with a curious expression.

Lee shrugged, and Cassie smiled, pulling out onto the road. "Well, you wanted a dog.". They pulled into the pounds winding drive.

Denis smiled, "Yes I did."

She parked, and lee jumped out. "Stay!" She commanded the dogs. Cassie turned off the engine.

Denis got out of the car and smiled towards Cassie. He shut the door and started walking to the other side of the car.

Cassie got out, and locked the car. She clipped leashes onto the dogs, attached to the truck. "Let's go." She said, heading towards the shelters doors, and the muffled sound of dogs barking. Lee was radiating with waves of excitement.

Denis jogged up to them and walked when he was by them. He smiled with anticipation.
