| Snowfire lay on the ground, his breathing labored. He lifted his head slightly, dazed and disoriented. There was a little blood coming from his mouth and nose. He suddenly tried to get up only to fall back again with a loud whinny of pain. He thrashed on the ground, digging deep furrows into the mud and splashing water from the creek. His right shoulder and leg that was pinned under him felt like it was on fire as the shock started to wear off. He frantically tried to stand, but only succeeded in causing himself more pain as he collapsed on his side again. He let out an agonized nicker and let his head fall back in the mud, nostrils flaring. | |

| Chelsea felt slightly helpless as Snowfire thrashed about as he struggled to stand. She desperately wanted to try to hold the stallion down, but feared getting herself injured as well. She spoke too him calmly, though she was freaking out on the inside. She wasn't prepared for this. She petted him until he calmed, smiling softly when she noticed Belles nudging him, nickering quietly to him. Taking a deep breath, she pulled her cellphone from her pocket, and dialed the number of the vet clinic. She spoke on the phone for a minute, before snapping it shut on her thigh and petting the stallion again. Don't worry boy. The vet will be here soon. She said as she gently wiped the blood from his muzzle. | |

| Snowfire had either popped something severely out of place or shattered a bone. The weight on his injured side only increased the level of pain. His entire being was being consumed with the need to flee away from the pain. He thrashed once more in an attempt to stand, but eventually gave up. He dropped his head in the mud again and let out a long groan. He could feel Belles nudging him and Chelsea petting him, but the discomfort and agony of laying on his side was making him desperate to stand. | |

| (WOuld you mind being teh vet? :3)
Chelsea looked back over her shoulder anxiously, wondering where the vet was. Sure, it had only been a few moments, and it took at least fifteen minutes for him to reach her farm. She realized she'd been holding her breath, and let it out slowly as she turned her head back to Snowfire. She sturggled to hold in the tears that were burning behind her eyes. How could she have let this happen? She soke softly, telling him to stay still and that everything would be okay. Belles had ceased nudging him, and stared sadly at him, unsure of what to do.

| (No problem. ) Ten minutes after he got the call the vet was turning sharply into the driveway of Chelsea's farm. He leapt from his truck and looked around until he spotted the woman. He quickly entered the pasture, making his way towards the injured stallion. "What happened?" he asked. | |

| Chelsea jumped as the vet spoke, giving a little squeak. She turned, and sighed in relief. She sniffed lightly, before standing. Oh, sorry. Uhm... Then she began to panic. She ran her fingers through her hair, before explaining the situation with a shaky voice. Her lip quivered, before she knelt by Snowfire again and began petting him lightly. | |

| The vet listened intently to what she said before looking the stallion over on his good side. "Has he managed to get up at all?" he asked. | |

| Chelsea frowned, and looked down at the stallion. No. No he hasn't. He tries, but he can't seem to support himself. She said as she patted Snowfire. | |

| The vet scowled at her answer. "There's no way of telling how bad it is with him laying on it. Our only option is to get him to stand." he told the woman. | |

| Chelsea stood, and looked worriedly at the vet. How exactly do we get him to stand? She said as she looked down at Snowfire. She looked over at Belles, who was staring at them. | |

| "He'll have to stand on his own and we'll have to help by pushing. There's no way for me to get a sling under him without possibly causing more damage." he told her. He moved to stand beside the stallion and patted his neck lightly before looking back at Chelsea. "Do you have a lead rope that you can use to pull on him with?" he asked. | |

| Chelsea chewed lightly on her lower lip as the vet spoke, her eyes clouding over in worry. She nodded when he asked about a lead rope, and told him she'd be right back before running off to grab it. She returned a few minutes later, with a purple lead rope. She clutched at it nervously, twisting it in her hands. She was something she'd told herself a while ago that she'd never be. Afraid. She was afraid of what might happen. | |

| The vet waited until Chelsea got back with the lead rope to continue the instructions. "Now I need you to clip on the lead rope and start pulling on him while I push. He has to get up so don't stop unless I tell you. Okay?" he asked her. | |

| Chelsea nodded, and went around to Snowfire's head. Kneeling, she clipped the rope to the ring on his halter, and patted his muzzle. I need you to try, okay boy? She whispered to him softly, before standing, looking at the vet so she knew when to start pulling. | |

| The Vet got in place. "Ready? One, two, three. Pull!" he told Chelsea as he started to push on the large stallion. Snowfire had laid there quietly except for the occasional pained snort, but the moment the man started pushing on him the pain flared up again. The stallion started to thrash in an attempt to get his legs under him. All he knew was that he wanted away from the man causing him pain. | |

| Chelsea pulled on the lead rope, tears gathering in her eyes. He heart was tearing out of her chest. Snowfire was afraid of those who hurt him, and here she was causing him pain. And, she'd called the vet. Suddenly, she wasn't sure if she was ready for all of this. Maybe eighteen was too young to be doing this. She pulled harder, speaking softly to the stallion, telling him that he'd be okay, and that she was sorry, and that he needed to stand. She looked over at the vet with a pained expression. | |

| Snowfire let out a squeal of fear and pain as he made a last ditch effort and rolled. The vet moved quickly out of the way and the stallion tucked his legs under himself. Snowfire lurched forward and up and got his good leg under him and then his back legs. He stumbled backwards and almost collapsed before trying to move away from the area where he fell. He was breathing heavy, there was foam at his mouth, and his once white coat was covered in mud. | |

| Chelsea gave a surprised scream, which sounded little more than a squeak. She took a step back as Snowfire rolled, not wanting to get hit by a flailing body part that could be going by. She smiled when he stood, and resisted the urge to run to him and hug him. Instead, she watched the vet carefully as she went around to the side with his bad leg and patted him gently, telling him he was a good boy. SHe stood next to him, close enough so that he could lean on her slightly he needed to. | |

| (Shattered bone or just severely popped out of place???)
Snowfire would have pulled away when the vet approached, but he was exhausted. He stood on three legs with his other one hanging limp and his head close to the ground. The vet moved up to stand next to him and carefully began to examine his shoulder. Snowfire let out a snort of pain and jerked his head up to bite at the man. He couldn't think much beyond not wanting anyone to touch his shoulder. The vet pulled back and looked at Chelsea. "Can you hold onto his lead?" he asked her, watching the horse.

| (I don't know Dx I can't make decisions. xD)
Chelsea watched silently as the vet tried to examine Snowfire's leg. When the stallion attempted to bite him she jumped slightly. She wasn't surprised that the poor boy was lashing out; she just wasn't expecting him to be even slightly violent. She could understand, though. When the vet asked her to hold his lead, she nodded and held it tightly, close to the end by his muzzle. She wasn;t going to risk him hurting the vet. She petted his face, gently stroking his muzzle. It'll be okay. I know it hurts. That man is just trying to figure out why. He's going to help. She sent the message telepathically, something she hadn't done in a while. Because of this, it drained her energy slightly, and she rested her head on Snowfire's forehead. (D'awww :3)

| The vet waited until she had him controlled and watched as the stallion visibly relaxed at something she did. He moved back up to the horse's side and began examining the injured shoulder again. "Well it isn't broken, but it may be popped out of place." he told her, a note of relief in his voice. He placed both of his hands at the top of the horse's shoulder and suddenly shoved on it as hard as he could. Snowfire let out a squeal of pain and jerked back violently when he felt his shoulder pop into place. The bone had crushed one of the nerves in his shoulder and the sudden rush of feeling caused him to squeal and stumble away from both the vet and Chelsea. | |

| Chelsea sighed in relief as the vet assured that it wasn't broken. When set his hands on Snowfire, however, she tightened her hold on the lead rope. She'd figured out what the vet was going to do, and wanted to keep the white horse still. However, her plan deemed useless. As soon as the man shoved the bone back into it's socket, Snowfire pulled back. Chelsea stepped forward, but not quick enough. She lost her grip on the lead, and tripped, falling onto her hands and knees. She winced as she hit the softened earth, and stayed still for a moment before pushing herself up. She stood, and looked up at the horse. You okay now, boy? She asked quietly. | |

| Snowfire let out a snort of surprise when Chelsea tripped and fell. A worried look flashed in his eyes, but the pain from the crushed nerve kept him from moving to the girl. He nickered softly in apology, lowering his head. His leg still hung limp, a couple of muscles torn or pulled. He was afraid of moving it and causing himself pain. | |

| Chelsea smiled, and hugged him gently. I'm alright. I should be worrying about you. Not the other way around. She patted him, and turned to the doc. So. How bad is the damage to his leg? She asked worriedly. She suddenly thought of the show she'd entered him in, but tossed the thought aside. Snowfire and his well-being were much more important than a horse show.
Belles stood by and watched the whole scene, finally venturing forward to give the stallion a reassuring nuzzle. She glanced at the vet warily. She didn't like them much. She always saw them down on the track to see some poor soul who fell and broke something, and was taken away in a large vehicle. And not alive.

| The vet approached the stallion cautiously and felt along the injured leg. He finally took a step back and sighed. "It's not as bad as a break, but it's close enough. From what I can tell he's all but shredded several muscles and possibly crushed a couple of nerves. It's going to take a lot of time and pain getting him back to what he was before. There's always that possibility that he may not be ridden again as well. Most owners would simply have him put down." the vet told her regretfully. | |
