Chelsea's happy grin turned into a concerned frown. What is it boy? What's wrong? She asked worriedly. She brought her hands in close, not wanting to frighten him any more. Her gaze was mildly frightened. Did it have something to do with the time from before he'd been put in the auction? She reached out gently and patted his neck. I'm not going to hurt you. I promise. She whispered softly.

Snowfire snorted softly and let his head droop low to the ground. While his practices at his old home had been difficult he had greatly enjoyed them. He loved working and always tried to please his owners. Chelsea's practice had been short and he was afraid he had angered her in some way. He nickered quietly and looked up at her, trying to show that he was sorry with his eyes. His old owners had seemed gentle in comparison to the stable hands at the auction barn. The men at the auction barn had been cruel and very quick to use whips or their hard sorting polls, but Snowfire knew Chelsea wasn't like them. But she wasn't like his earlier owners either so it confused him.

Chelsea saw the hint of guilt in Snowfire's eyes. She hugged him suddenly. Oh, why are you sorry? You didn't do anything wrong. She said, her voice muffled in his neck. SHe inhaled his horsey scent, and sighed. What had they done to the poor boy? She stroked him for a moment, before moving to remove his tack once again.

Reassured by Chelsea's words Snowfire allowed the tack to be removed. He stood quietly watching her. He kept his head low so that it was easier for her to remove the bridle and let out a deep breath so that the girth strap loosened.

Chelsea removed the tack, and hung them from the fence. She turned back around, and patted him gently. "See? It's okay." SHe said. She leaned into him, and petted his coarse coat, while humming quietly. (My bold button won't work Dx)

Snowfire snorted softly before swinging his head back and sticking his muzzle right next to her face. He nuzzled her cheek gently before lowering his head towards the thick grass at his hooves. He buried his muzzle in the luscious green clover and started to graze.

Chelsea giggled as Snowfire nuzzled her, his whiskers tickling her cheek. She sat down cross-legged, leaning back gently against his for leg. She played with the grass, enjoying the tickling sensation the shhots brought to her palms. She sighed, enjoying the peace.

Snowfire stayed still as she leaned back against his leg. He pulled up a large mouthful of grass and turned his head to see what she was doing, accidentally dropping a portion of his grass in her hair. He couldn't help but snort in humor at the sight.

Chelsea's eyes widened as the moistened wad of grass landed in her hair. She squealed, and brushed it from her hair. She glared up at Snowfire, and then began to laugh. You did that on purpose, didn't you. She said, cheerfully.

Snowfire nickered in amusement at Chelsea's reaction. He tossed his head and pawed at the ground. He went suddenly still though when something down by the small stream caught his attention. A squirrel sat up on its haunches with a nut in its paws. Curious as always Snowfire went to investigate. He moved quietly towards it with his head low to the ground so he could keep an eye on the creature. When he was only a couple of feet away, the squirrel noticed him and let out a loud chattering noise and took off towards the trees, startling Snowfire. The white stallion let out a loud snort and reared sideways before taking off and trotting back towards Chelsea.

Chelsea fell over backwards as Snowfire walked off to investigate the squirrel. She groaned slightly as she got up, and laughed at the stallion as he ran away from the squirrel. Look who's laughing now. She said with a smirk.

Snowfire let out a loud puff of air through his nose and shook his head, glancing warily back in the direction the squirrel had gone. He moved to stand in front of her and butted her arm with his head.

Chelsea looked up at him, and patted his nose gently. You silly boy. She said adoringly. She rubbed his muzzle lightly, and kissed his nose.

Snowfire nickered softly and pressed his muzzle against her cheek for a moment before pulling back. He tossed his head and looked back towards the corral with the jumps. He wished he could return to his show days.

Chelsea patted him again, and followed his nostalgic gaze. Hey. I've entered you in a show. She said quietly as she looked up at him. She stroked his leg softly, humming to herself.

Snowfire froze at her words, his eyes widening slightly. He looked at her in surprise thinking he hadn't heard her right. He let out a short questioning nicker.

She nodded with a giggle. I did. We'll be competing soon, within this week. She said with excitement. It had been forever since she had entered a horse in a show, and even longer since she'd been in one herself.

Snowfire tossed his head high and let out a loud whinny of excitement. He reared up and tossed his head, pawing at the air before landing and prancing around Chelsea happily.

Chelsea laughed at Snowfire's excitement. She'd never seen any of her horses get so excited. Except for maybe Belles, and even she didn't get like this. Chelsea stood, and threw her arms around the stallion, ignoring the fact that he was dancing around in his happiness. You'll beat the best of them. She said confidently.

Snowfire nickered happily and pulled his muzzle back so that he returned Chelsea's hug. He snorted softly and leaned slightly against her.

Chelsea didn't move, except to move a foot behind her to brace herself a bit. She inhaled deeply, taking in the scent she loved so much. She sighed contentedly as she stroked him gently, her arms still wrapped loosely around his neck. You're such a sweet boy. She muffled into him. She smiled against him, and began humming a sort-of lullaby her mom had sung when she was little.

Snowfire snorted softly and pressed his muzzle against her back, pulling her against his broad white chest. He let himself relax as she hummed. He was becoming increasingly attached to the girl. He owed Chelsea his life for saving him from the sale barn and he was determined to make her proud of him.

Chelsea sighed deeply as she felt Snowfire push her lightl into his muscular chest. She smiled, and patted him, continuing her humming.

Snowfire nickered softly before gently pulling back. He tossed his head before slowly lowering to one knee, his back waist level to Chelsea.

Chelsea looked at him, confused as he pulled away and lowered himself. She patted his back, unsure of what he wanted.
