Rosetta was asleep for several hours before she started moving in her sleep. She twitched and jerked on the bed as her fight with Mrs. Lovett filled her mind. Her entire body ached from where she had fallen down the stairs, and the gashes on her shoulder and cheek burned along with her side.

Sweeney came in and put something cool on her forehead.

Rosetta cried out and her eyes snapped open when she felt something touch her. She looked around panicked, but calmed down when she realized it had just been Sweeney. She tried to slow her breathing, because it was causing pain in her side. She gave Sweeney a weak smile. "Sorry I'm so much trouble." she whispered.

He tried to hold his breath to keep from laughing in disbelief.You think your a burden?He asked incredulously.

Rosetta glanced away from Sweeney, trying to avoid looking in his eyes. "All I ever do is get into trouble." she mumbled.

He stroked her hair back.I don't care.

Rosetta looked up at Sweeney. She couldn't stop herself from suddenly pushing herself up and wrapping her arms around Sweeney. She ignored the pain she caused herself from the sudden movement and cried into his shoulder. The stress from everything that had happened to her was finally getting to her.

He brought his arms up to hold her as gently as he could. He looked down and whispered into her earIt's all right, it's over.

Rosetta sobbed into Sweeney's chest. "I-It's never over..." she cried quietly.

He pulled her back gently and put his fingers under her Chin to make her look a get him.Look at me. This chapter is closed. Nobody is ever going to hurt you again when your under my protection. Relax. It's over.

Rosetta looked up at him and new tears brimmed in her eyes, only this time they were tears of gratitude. She gave him a trembling smile and winced as it caused a sharp pain to flash across her cheek, reminding her of her injuries. She put a hand to her cheek and her eyes widened when she pulled it away and saw blood on her fingers. Jerking around the way she had had re-opened her wounds.

He took her hand from her face and put it in her lap, got up and went to the kitchen and got more bandages and supplies. He redreassed the wound carefully.

Rosetta watched as he re-dressed her wound before reaching up and touching his cheek. She hesitated before leaning forward and kissing him gently on the lips, ignoring the pain in her side.

He kissed her back with a touch as gentle as a feather. He lifted his hand and played with a strand of her haif as they kissed.

Rosetta sighed into the kiss. Her hands moved to rest against Sweeney's chest.

He put his free hand on her cheek and turned his head to kiss her in a different direction.

Rosetta kissed him harder. Her hands gripping the front of his shirt.

He kept his gentle pace, waiting a few more seconds before he finally kissed her like he wanted to. He carefully pulled her closer to him and put his hands on her lower back, where he couldn't feel injury. He kissed her back, strongly. His lips moved around hers in a strange yet completely satisfying fashion.

Rosetta melted into the kiss. She was surprised to realize how right it felt to be in Sweeney's arms. She had not even felt that way when she had been with her fiance. A sharp stab of fear filled her as she realized that her happiness may be torn away from her like it had been before.

He touched the tip of his tongue to her lip, not feeling her fear, an emotion so widely felt in his presence that he had grown accustomed to it.

Rosetta parted her lips slightly, breathing him in. She shoved back her fear and wrapped her arms around his neck, ignoring the pain in her shoulder.

His tongue was now fully in her mouth and he took her bottom lip between his own. He then broke off and kissed along her neck and went back to her mouth.

Rosetta moaned into the kiss. Her hands moving back to trace down his chest. She pulled back slightly, panting, to give him a small smile.

He leaned his forehead on hers and looked into her eyes, tucking back her hair.Don't you realize how beautiful you are?

Rosetta's green eyes met his as she blushed hearing his words. She shook her head slightly, shaking her long red hair.
