Cinnamon Dust trotted around nervously, her chestnut coat turning white with foam. She panted hard and was soon forced to walk. "Oh, why did I have to run THIS way? It' SOOO hot," she groaned, collapsing onto the red-hot sand. She slept to save energy.
Dust was awoken by a cold nose nudging her side. Thank goodnes, another horse, she thought. Suddenly a sharp pain went through her flank. "WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO DO, K-" She looked up and froze in terror. It was not a horse.
It was a pack of coyotes.
She sreamed in fright and pain and leaped to her feet. Coyotes swarmed over her, ripping at her sides and back. She looked up at the sky and let out a hopeless cry.
"Why? Why me?"
Then she collapsed.

A hoof landed on the stomach of one cyote, then on the head of another. A few of the cyotes turned toward Snake, as he stepped on another screaming cyote. He bit some of them off of her back. His front hooves landed on one last cyote, as he screamed tothe rest of the fleeing cyotes.

Flint heard the commotion and pricked his ears towards it, he let his hooves carry him to all the noise. He saw a horse laying on the ground and cyotes running away. He then saw another horse. He put the idea together and instantly got it. He looked at the horse on the ground and cantered over to her. He kneeled down, "Are you okay.!?"

Breathing heavily, Snake looked around him. When had the other stallion shown up? He circled the mare, leaving faint tracks of blood.

Cinnamon Dust felt the fangs of the coyotes tearing at her as she fell to her side. She gritted her teeth and waited, thinking all hope was lost. Then, faintly, she heard yelping and hoofbeats and snorting. The sounds echoed in her head. Dazed, she lifted her head and stared blankly at the dark shape before her. It made a sound she didn't really notice. Finally her hearing cleared and the figure repeated itself.. no.. HIMself. Dust was confused. "Who.. who are you.. what happened.. What's wrong with me.. What is on my eyes...."

Snake stopped his cycle, looking closely at the mare. "I don't see anything. Mud?"

Flint nuzzled her gently, "There is nothing on your eyes. It is probably just fuzzy from blood-loss. You are okay now though. I am Flint."

"Oh.." She was still a bit confused. She struggled to her feet. And fell down again. She tried once again, this time more slowly. Finally she stood, trembling and looking about nervously. "Night time already?" Everything was dark and fuzzy. Then she noticed the pain in her side. There was another pain now, too. Thirst. "Um.. Do you boys know where I could, like, get some water or something? 'Cause I'm, like, really thirsty here."(By the way, it is really midday. She just THINKS it is night.)
