The black filly trudged up the driveway, head down. She cried for someone, snyone, to help her find a home.

The screen door of the stone cottage opened, and a young woman came out, cradling an infant to her chest. She wasn't even 20, and an elegant 5ft 7. Her feet were bare, ignorant of the chilly spring morning. She wore dark denim jeans, which hugged her slender legs, and a white shirt with mid-sleeves. She walked down towards the filly, swapping her baby into the crook of one arm. "Hello sweetheart." She cooed, hazel eyes watching the foal, framed by a fringe over her forehead. Her long black hair flicked in the breeze.

Cleo nickered, hoping to see her momma, but seeing the strange human instead. Oh well, she would have to do. She walked over to the human, nuzzling her leg.

She pet the foals head. "Oh poor baby." She cooed, and gently led the filly towards the empty barn. "Let's get some milk."

She followed silently, her back left hoof giving the slightest sign of hesitation.

Ben saw them walking up from the barn and made a bottle of milk. He waited for them to reach him and smiled at Virgina. He turned to the foal, "Hi baby."

She whinnied, heading toward the milk.

Ben offered the teat of the bottle to her.

She took it quickly, without hesitation.

Ben tipped the bottle back, not very high but enough to let the milk flow slowly. He didn't know how long it had been since the filly last had a meal and he didn't want to rush it.

She gulped it down quickly.

"Slow down sweetie." He laughed.

(when I was little, i fed my grandpas calf, and when i droped the bottle milk sprayed me xD)

She took her mouth of of the bottle quickly, so the small hic could escape.

Ben let out a small laugh.

She watched the foal. "There are a few rugs in the tack room that would fit. This is the brood barn, but Heroine's the only mare i have. She doesnt get bred." she left the empty barn, leading the arab x paint mare into the barn. "What do you think, girl? Back to fostering?" she cooed to the mare, still cradling her son.

(i acutally had a calf for a few weeks. then it died. xD WHY DOES EVERYTHING I LOVE DIE?!?!?!?)

Heroin stretched her muzzle towards the fillys, snorting inquisitively.

Cleo looked up at the mare, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

Virginia opened a stall door, placing her baby gently on a hay bale as she quickly bedded the stall. She scooped her son up, and took off Heroins halter. The mare gently nudged Cleo towards the stall.

She walked inside, curiosity controling her as she looked around.
