Cheveyo snorted and tossed his head, eager to start jumping again. He streched his neck out as Nathan scratched his shoulder and leaned towards the boy. His ears flicking and eyes closed. He loved his shoulders and neck scratched.

He scratched with both hands, laughing, eyes sparkling.

Cheveyo sighed and leaned more against Nathan. He lifted his head up and rubbed his muzzle against the boy's cheek. His half lidded eyes showing his appreciation.

Nathan laughed. "Good boy." He grinned.

Cheveyo snorted. He nipped at Nathan's hair then bumped the boy's shoulder with his head.

Kitchi was watching Dala. The black wolf jumped silently from ont of the large rocks on the bank. He crouched down and started to slide through the grass, carefully placing each paw. He watched the bear as he moved closer, his blue eyes oddly curious.

Dala sat, sniffing the air as he smelled wolf. He tilted his head, watching the wolf creep closer.

Kitchi froze when he saw the bear watching him. His nose twitched as he sniffed the air, wondering if the bear was going to do anything.

Dala watched with eyes half-closed, until he began licking his suddenly-itchy paw.

Kitchi jumped back with a snarl when the bear moved. His fur stood on end and his teeth were bared.

Catori slid off of Onyx's back and landed softly on the ground. She jumped when she heard Kitchi snarl and spun around to see what was wrong. The moment she saw him she shook her head and walked over to sit beside the tree she had slept in, relaxing in the shade. She wasn't about to go over to the wolf when he was like that. She had learned her lesson when she'd startled him when he was hunting. The wolf had been completely focused and had thought she was attacking him. She still had the scar on her arm when he'd accidently bitten her. Kitchi had been angry at her for startling him and also angry at himself for letting her sneak up on him. She yawned and started to braid her hair, watching as a butterfly went by seeming to almost dance in the wind.

Onyx trotted over to Cheveyo and rubbed her head on his neck. With a quick nudge to Nathan's arm Cheveyo followed Onyx as she walked away. The two horses stopped in a sunny spot and started to graze, their long tails swishing slowly. The sun turning their coats to liquid gold and black.

Kitchi stopped snarling and jerked his head up, his ears twitching. He thought he'd heard a yelp. He growled one more time before spinning around and disappearing into the trees. He moved quickly, following the direction of the sound and soon spotted a wolf through the trees. He slowed down and stopped just inside the last few trees. He looked around and noticed the wolf was standing between the trees and the river bank. He padded forward with a warning growl rumbling in his throat. His black fur standing on end and his teeth were bared as he moved closer. His eyes watched the other wolf intently, watching its every move. He noticed the wolf's paw.

kodiak wined heating the growl she laid her ears back and silently laid down
(is Kitchi a male if it is can he be kodiaks mate or does he/she have a mate?)

(Kitchi's male and doesn't have a mate. He taken care of Catori, a human girl, since she was a baby and considers her his daughter. Catori and Kitchi are at Nathan's home with Onyx, a black mare, Cheveyo, a buckskin stallion, Dala, a bear, and Nathan, a human boy.)

Kitchi stalked toward the female wolf, his teeth still bared. "What are you doing here?" he asked sharply.

kodiak barked back "i uh dont know" she said unsure

Kitchi growled low in his throat and circled the female, his tail twitching irritably. "Who are you?" he asked, his voice tense.

Nathan watched Kitchi leave, and Dala lumbered over to him, snuffling at the back of his neck. Dala laughed, pushing the big bears muzzle away. Dala pricked his ears, hearing faint growls from Kitchi.

Catori looked over at Dala before she whipped her head around to where she could hear Kitchi's growls. She jumped to her feet and walked towards the noise. She could slightly hear what Kitchi was saying, but she thought she could hear another voice. It sounded like a female wolf. She was worried. The last time Kitchi had met another wolf they had fought each other, both of them giving major wounds to each other.

Nathan watched Catori and Dala, glancing at the forest.

" im kodiak but people call me kodi for short" she said her ears laid back and she whined showing no harm her blue eyes were stunning for a redish brownish tanish wolf her eyes shined matching the color of the sky she stood up keeping of the paw she tore open and broke.

Kitchi growled lowly before glancing down at her paw. He let his fur lie flat and stood up straight. She wasn't a threat to him with a paw like that. "My name's Kitchi. What happened to your paw?" he asked, his voice still slightly aggressive.

Catori paused on her way towards where Kitchi had been growling and listened quietly. She couldn't hear anymore growling, but she didn't know if that was a good thing or a bad thing.

Onyx and Cheveyo had stopped grazing to stare into the woods. Their instincts reacting to the sound of growling. Onyx flicked her ears and snorted nervously, moving towards Cheveyo. She was ready to run if any strange wolves showed up. Cheveyo tossed his head and looked over at Nathan, noticing that both the boy and the bear had noticed the growling.
