The arabian cantered across the sand, long white mane and tail fluttering, sun gleaming on her thick black and white patches. She snorted, slowing down and stopping, head held high. She studied the sandy landscape, flicking her tail occasionally, shaking her forelock from her troubled eyes. As she stood, the muscles under her skin quivered ever so slightly. Her silhouette was beautiful against the orange sand and the red sky, but she didn't care much for beauty. She snorted, and started off, walking towards her oasis.

Pepper was coming from the other way. He was at a bouncy trot, but slowed when he saw the mare. He didn't say anything, but looked at her for a moment. He stretched his head down to the sand and snorted, he looked back up, a grin on his face.

(Just warning ya, Catori's a little more complicated than most mares.)

She glanced at him, with a nearly bored expression on her face. She flicked her tail, stirring up some sand.

(okiie dokiie)

Pepper looked back down at the sand, he snorted again and sniffed at a crab. It pinched onto his velvety muzzle and he squealed, throwing his head up in the air. He looked down, slightly embarresed, he pawed at the ground, bringing the cool sand up to the top and lay down on it. Ignoring the mare.

She snorted, keeping about her own business and walking by. She stopped at the oasis, dipping her head to drink from the pond.

He stayed laying on the ground, "What's your name?"

She glanced up. "Why does it matter?" Her tone wasn't hostile.

"It doesnt. I was just.. Wondering."

"Catori." She said, not even looking at him, then continuing drinking.

"Nice name.. I am Pepper." He completly ignored her and went around doing his own thing. Snuffling the sand more and digging up spots.

Wrangler flicked his tail at Pepper and walked beside Catori,"Nice to see you again Catori." He smiled at her and started drinking with her.

She picked up her muzzle from$ the pond, dipping her head. "Wrangler."

Pepper snorted, eyeing the stallion.

Catori glanced at Pepper. "Why so suspicious?"

He had recently been in a bad fight with a stallion, "No reason." He snorted again, looking away from Wrangler.

She rolled her eyes. "Stallions." She muttered, trotting over to a cacti and feeling the spines.

He pawed the sand and snuffled around in it, searching for something, then gave up and looked at the mare.

Deciding she couldn't be bothered to work to snack on the cactus, she snorted and pawed. She looked around at the dunes, her mane rippling in the wind, and then took off, muscles bunching then extending, bunching then extending as she galloped along the dunes, tossing her head a few times, rejoicing. It felt good to run across the sand.
