| The sun was just waking up, fresh golden light spilling over the lake and the rolling hills around. The birds sang a good morning to everything, awakening nature. The trees seemed to stretch, and everything seemed to buzz with fresh energy. A sole figure wandered to an oak not far from the lake, where she yawned. Her maroon waves had been painted with gold, the locks falling to her hips. Her blue eyes sparkled in the light, clear. Her lips were full and rosy, her skin fair and taut over subtly defined cheekbones. Her neck tapered into strong collarbones and gently sloping shoulders. She wore a dress of light, flowy material, white with a fine green floral print. It fell to halfway down her thighs, exposing her long, elegant legs. She wore ankle boots, tan ones with a slight wedge, and that laced up, but only because they were comfortable. She had a small leather bag slung over her shoulder, its contents her breakfast. She dropped it as she sat down with a sigh, closing her eyes for a moment, bathing in the new morning light. | |

| Brightness was consuming the land. Washing over the landscape with the brining of a new day. The chips of finches and other assorted songbirds filled the morning air. And the creatures it touched, the animals who crawled along the earth, all appriciated it immensely. Of course, two creatures under the bright and shining disk nearly resented it's presence. Their goings on were best suited to darkness, though it didn't help them blend in anymore than a simple glamore would. The only ones, perhaps, who truly did not care if the sun held off a little longer on it's comings.
Of course, the man had to admit that he almost resented his forced companion as much as he did the rising of the disturbingly bright thing hanging in the air over him. His smolding eyes turned on the creature standing nearby, locking on it's matching orbs. Oh, how he loathed it. Not that it did any good. They were a part of each other now. As odd as the idea was. The monstrocity standing adjecent to him was equine in build, holding the form of something that looked both strangely demonic, and angelic. The substance of it's coat was unidentifiable, and a fire raged on its two wings that were held open proudly, like the thing did not care what it was. But he cared.
With a shake of his head, the man sighed and addressed it directly in a firm tone that left no doubt about how he disliked it, "Come on." and with a snort it stood while he climbed on it's coal black back, and surged forward. He may not like the light, but he wouldn't waist a day. He hardly slept anyways.
The wind played with the beast's flaming mane and tail. also making the scarlet markings which crossed it's hide flare up ever brighter. Some might appriciate a nice thing like this, all so beautifully prefect on the outside. But what would someone think if they knew anything he did? Whatever. He pressed forward, not visibly signaling the monster the rode, but still in complete controll. Well, not complete. But enough to get it moving where he wanted. As they emerged from the woods that stood behind them, his flame huged eyes set themselves on the lake. It was nothing spectacular, not anything that could impress him. But somehow it registered as nice, the sumbeams reflecting off of it's glassy surface, and the sand just looking warm to the touch. Of course, he had lost interest in such things.
He dismounted the smoldering abomination with an easy flowing movement, muscular arms sending him away from it. But it was short lived. Once his feet struck the earth, he knew his choice had to be made. Let it follow him in public, which he kew he just would not let happen, or... well the other chice was a painful one, but he made it often enough.Better this than to have to let it walk around. Stupid monster. He held out a arm to it, beckoning. He didn't need to twice. It lept forward, changing form seamlessly as soon as it made contact with his skin. It turned to a unbelivably vivid ink, running up his arm and stopping a few inches below his shoulder.
Though it seared him skin, sending white hot pain shooting through him, the man was so used to it that he no longer grimaced, simly tenced and toughed through it. He walked with soft steps, those of a hunter with a practiced tread. Looking down serupticiously at the lake, he saw only one figure haunting it's shore. That of a female with long, extravagent locks and a form-fitting outfit that seemed to suit her, though he wouldn't know anything about her. Either way he simply raised a brow and watched a moment. He studied her azure blue eye with his own smoldering flame colored ones. Everything about him rand of fire, and with that some slight degree of danger. Even his hair looked like dancing flames, the wind that brushed through it not helping, but almost breathing lifeinto it. Hers, though, were almost his opposite, hair a maroon shade that seemed from here to be holding onto the sunlight that touched it.
Enough, he thought, yet not entirely tearing away. The air shimmered around him with the burning heat produced both by himself and the aweful thing. He sighed as hi moved again, wondering what had cought his interest. You know none of that sort of mundane thing concerns you? Right? Your not exactly the sort of thing most would want to meet in the morning. A killer, you are. It spoke to in in a language that was all crackling and hisses, voice strained, but not totally ugly. Either way he just grunted in response, not caring what it thought. Why couldn't he spend a day here? Just one little day on the beach. And so he launched into movement, legs sending him forward. He wore a shirt that matched the coat of his follower, inky and nothing but dark. Also pair of pants that were like jeans, but made of a completely differnt kind of fabric which may not be all earthly. His feet were clad in boots that seemed like any other sort of leather but somehow seemed to look different, and all together more deadly.
Quietly enough he slowed, pausing before settling down against a grouping of rocks nearby to the girl. What the hell was he doing? Honestly. He did admit the truth of the beast's words, but also he didn't want to. Reality was a hard thing to accept, and truthfully he didn't want to. But no matter. For now, he would stay here, in his spot, ignoring the constant burning on his arm, but that was just how things were anyways. But his attention was undeniably wandering, flickering over to the girl who had settled under an Oak tree.

| She began pulling off her shoes, feeling the fresh grass against her toes. She glanced up, and her gaze held. She studied this new figure, totally caught up. Her clear eyes traced this man, whom she shouldn't even pay attention to. Totally opposite to herself, he looked like he wasn't entirely comfortable. Everything about him reminded her of fire, even the way he walked to the lake. Oddly enough, she wasn't aware she was staring. She was always conscious of her every act, planning her next move subconsciously. A light breeze picked up, flirting with a few stray maroon locks. She realized with a bit of a start that she was balanced tensely, as if about to stand. She forced herself to sit back against the tree again, her eyes wandering along the horizon and back to the stranger. His clothes were odd, but complemented him well, or atleast the way he seemed. His vibrant tattoo was interesting- her eyes lingered there for a few, fluttering hertbeats before they continued up his shoulders, neck, and then to his face. She traced his features with her eyes, and when hers reached his, her breath nearly caught. They were like no other, each its own evening sun. He was so different to her, it would seem as if she shouldn't spend a thought on him. But there was something else there, a desire to stand beside him on the shore, hear his thoughts spoken, and see what he did. She bit her lip, a slithery voice hissing in her head. Stop staring like a fool! it was like this often, she doing something and an ever-present snakey shadow of her mind always criticizing, the thing that drover her to be so subtly self-conscious. She cast her eyes to a few sparrows hopping hopefully nearby. She distracted herself from the man, rummaging through her small bag and pulling out a corner of toast. She broke it into small chunks, tossing it to the audience of birds, which had suddenly grown. A smile tugged at the corner of her lips as they tweeted earnestly, almost for her own amusement. | |

| Maybe he was detached from the rest of the world; not like he could go around socilizing with those humans, but suddenly he was caught up in thought. A moment grasped him just then, feeling her cyan gaze pulled to him. He had this happen before enough, and at night, when his smoldering presence upon the blazing monstrosity could pull in the gaze of a whole street, he was the center of attention. But not for long. There was a reason he was risking a lot just hanging around here. That was not his purpose. So why, when he felt that woman's eyes tracing over him, did he meet her eyes. The bright ones that looked nothing like his at all. Why, when he had never cared for anyone while in this state, did he feel some movement of his muscles, like he was poised to go to her. That wasn't supposed to happen. Not ever. Maybe he was just lonely again. It was a common enough problem for someone who never socialized or spoke to others.
He watched, unfocused for the minute, while she turned to a little gathering of birds, leaping over the ground with their small jumps to try and lay claim to an awaited morsel of food. His bright eyes dimmed for a moment, reacting less to her now that he had collected his mind and became mindful of his actions again. He saw her smile, enjoying the experience somewhat. He never really understood birds and why some people liked them. But he felt like her opinions were important to him. Oh, what rot was him mind conjuring up? This madness was just that.
But regaurdlessly, he thought just sitting here would be dreadfully boring. Of course boring was a welcome thing by now. Better then the revultion at what he was now. That was unbearable. So he thought about this, wondering how he would spend an entire day, the sunlight an unwelcome sight while he lounged there by the pile of rocks now self proclaimed as his own. This was where he was, so what to do? The tattoo began moving again, like it was intent to cause him pain even when he finally found the time to just be somewhere. It moved it's brilliat wings with jerky motions that made it seem as if it were under a strobe light. He frowned, a less than becoming thing on his flickering face, and decided the thing was acting childish. It did that, got jealous for his notice. Like it wasn't already seared into his damn mind. Really.
The idea that he should make this time something of a less dull ordeal crossed him and with that he put his hands together. He liked few things about himself, but one thing that he did find amusement in was some of the abilities he was granted. His hands were worn, and smelt of true fire. An unearthly kind that was not tampered with by the things it burned, but a true chemical thing that was not all smoke and totally indescribable yet pleasant. A spark caught and the creature tossed its inked mane. But of course, he would like sparks. It grew to a little ball of flame, not ignited on anything but simply holding onto itself and the power within itself. It grew slightly, till it was nearly the size of a baseball. And then he set it free.
It launched forward, moving with grace as it swung through the morning air. Then from the ball of flame wings opened up, catching air and gaining control of itself. It took on more distinct features after a moment, becoming a bird that well matched those clustered around the girl. They might have been scared by it if they hadn't been stuffing their little beaks. It moved swiftly, landing near them, little feet blazing, charring the ground under them but not setting anything actually aflame. It's small, well shaped head tilted as it watched her before flying off towards the rising sun. Wherever it was going, the man doubted it would be seen again.

| (Its okay, Its good to just have some proper posts going after so long!)
Jets eyes sparkled as she watched the bird soar off. When she couldn't see it anymore, her eyes wandered to the man. She studied him again, that was something she didn't expect. She found herself holding her breath, and quickly resumed her intake of oxygen, hating her nervously fluttering heart. The birds scattered as she stood, her dress flickering around her thighs. She walked almost listlessly across the grass and sand until she reached the rocks. She noted with slight curiosity that his tattoo flickered, as if it were a living thing. She paused within a few feet, her voice almost catching in her throat. "Interesting, playing with fire." She said softly, taking him in from up close. What would possess her to talk so familiarly with a stranger? She wasn't one to begin conversation with someone because they could do a few tricks, as unique as they were.

| His coal-like eyes burned over to her, watching the reaction to his little flame creation. Once again he managed to notice that subtle change in her as her breath caught in her throat for a moment. The whole thing garnered the appearence of a bemused smile that seemed to give off it's own scorching light. He did so like to cause these things, the start, no matter how small, that people gave when they witnessed such things as this. He really should not get bored some days.
The way she crossed the space between then suddenly, the annoying chirping animals taking wing at once, it pulled at his focus. What exactly was wrong with him? This was not a silly story and he was most likely not the kind she should be interested in. Though his cause could be called good, he was predominently not. Not that it was any fault of his. The whole idea of being in any way connected to this person before him still felt like it ought to not be happening.
Again she gazed at him. It felt strange as he let her gaze lead to the tattoo again. Gah, why was it that the thing had to be so easily noticed? He did not need this. Nope. But, his feet didn't feel like moving, the useless appendages. She had seen Scintilla's movements and it sent a pulse of nervousness through him. Yet he felt she wasn't taking much interest in it, not enough to concern the man. Now she had taken his attention, as much as he though he might not like that.
Then she spoke. Was he really going to do this? Let her waltz in and make things worse? Because it could only get worse. Still he had no compultion to leave and they were strangers to each other. Scintilla made a soft snort, fixing himself to gaze at Jet with eyes that matched those of the one he was with. The man only raised a brow slightly before responding in a voice nearly as soft, but in a different kind of way. His words were spoken in such a way one might think of the way fire hisses before sending a spluttering of sparks and filling the air with a crack; dangerous yet somewhat between threat and being totally neutral, "igne natura renovatur integra." His mouth made the words before he even bothered considering his choice of language. He didn't need a whole conversation in Latin, thank you. But it simply came to mind. Words he heard soon after he had become what he was now. Ignis. A man of fire, who contorled fire. Yet still was controled by it daily.
(Indeed ^^ I should really learn to go to bed at a decent hour now...)

| She felt a twinge between her shoulder blades, not at the words, but the language he spoke. She totally disregarded it, showing nothing as she suppressed the whispery feeling in her back. He had a secret, and so did she, though they were totally different. She tilted her head slightly, a subtle change of angle, that betrayed her recognition of the language. "That's a language I've not heard for years." Her words were softened, even by the standards of her gentle voice, giving away an obvious fondness for the dead language. "Its like music. Once upon a time, it was uncommon to speak other languages." Her eyes were slightly hazy with memories, but in a second the look was gone. "Its different now. Yet you seem fluent." Her last statement flicked up at the end, making it a query. She stepped closer, and settled on a rock, eyes remaining on him. As if a guy like him would even spend a second thought on her. But she willed it to be true all the same. | |

| He couldn't rid himself of the idea that they were alike. Not in any obvious way, for that was certainly not the case, but maybe she had something to hide just as he did. But then, everyone had big secrets. He watched the tilt of her head and noticed recognition soon after. She didn't even need to tell him she knew it now. But then, he had a knack for guessing secrets. Not that he was supposed to. Those were for their owners, as he learned the hard way that prying was not a smart choice.
Her next spoken words didn't all surprise him, but they caught him a little off guard. It wasn't as if she needed to tell him this anyways. He, was not familiar to this woman. And she, was his opposite in many a way. But he knew another common thing they had now. They both like this language. Occasionally he let words of it slip just because he wanted something worth liking. There wasn't really a whole lot for him anyways. The way she spoke of it, a fondness to her voice, somehow made itself important to him.
Then the last bit. It was indeed true that the words he had uttered were of a languge no longer used by nearly all of mankind. And maybe he did know it better than the mortals of these days. So observen was this girl. It could get sort of annoying after a while. But who said he was sticking around? After all, he had obligations at night that just could not involve anyone else. No matter how foolishly he wished it to be otherwise. But wishes never did anyone much good. Wishes, did not do anything. There wasno substance to them pike there was hope. But what he lacked most anyways was a form of hope.
But how to answer her? He doubted that an outright admition of how he knew this language would be the best choice. Something about her rang 'enamy' yet not as strongly as it did that he simply would not be able to not like her. But that was as far as he got. This wishful thinking he distained. Years ago Ignis resigned himself to who and what he was, even with the occasional longing for a different situation.
She moved now, sitting herself down on a rock close to him. Was this honestly happening? Because he could not find whether he liked or despised this whole thing. Should he have left before? Not even come down to the beach? Huh. What did it matter? He was here and even if she remained oblivious, he knew they must be thinking somewhat similarly. Because there was no way he could feel like this if it wasn't something big enough for her to recognize as well.
After a pause that was just on the right side of suitable length, he replied in an amused tone, "Oh? Well you don't forget something as beautiful as a language long gone, do you? It was my first language, though. Back when it was common; like you say." the change to this other language was easy enough. He had learned many in his overly lengthy lifespan. But most were not his choice to learn. Like the one that sounded like sparks and crackling flames. Other worldly things that he might just as soon forget. Either way his gaze remained locked on hers, blazing firelight eyes of radiant blue ones. This was both wrong in his mind, and welcome.

| What are you? the words were barely restrained. He wasn't one of her kind, and it had been made plain he was not mere mortal. She looked out over the lake. The air was so clear, and all that disturbed it was a gentle thermal reflecting from the lake. It beckoned to her, the wind whispering words in her ears that she tried to ignore. Oh, how sweet they sounded! She looked away from the lake, back at this man. A successful distraction, she studied him again. "One of my early languages." She said. Like him, admitting truth was not possible. The only ones that knew her secret had the same secret to keep for themselves. Though, he had shown her something, the firy bird flashing in her mind. She smiled slightly at a soft breeze. "The wind is intrigued by you." She said softly. He had power with an element, unlike her. But when you live as long as she had, you learn languages that most are deaf to. You also see the rises and falls of great civilizations, the beauty of empires and then the bitter destruction of them. She'd only experienced things coming and going, no wonder she didn't ever get attached to anyone. So why was she here? Why didn't she mind her own business? A slight wrinkle formed in her brow, a tiny, soft line that gave her a quizzically thoughtful look. Her brow smoothened again as she pushed away the question, and focused again on this captivating man. "Please, forgive me. My name is Juliet, but those who vaguely know me, call me Jet." She said, her voice holding a lilt of something foreign for a brief moment before she cleared it and made it smooth and cool. | |

| Ignis watched this woman, someone who had inexplicably approached him when no one else had in the longest time. She wasn't normal, that much anyone could gather. And he felt like as he attempted to understand her, she may be doing just the same to him. What was this whole thing about? Because he had no idea what drew his thoughts to her like thas, and it was an unsettling feeling to be having. What annoyed him, was that an explination as to who she was, much less what, sat just out of reach. A diliberate taunting thing that made the monster on his shoulder make a crackling noise in response. Scintilla was always nosing in on what was the buisness only of Ignis. That ghastly thing just couldn't let things alone. Well, no matter, either way his annoyance would get no where. He would just have to stay and see what all he found out.
His orange hued eyes watched her as she turned her azure gaze to the lake. He himself glanced at it, but only long enough to recognise the shining surface that sent sunlight flying at him like a barrage of annoying bugs. Almost as bad too, but bugs weren't a problem anyways when your constant follower produced smoke like scintilla did. He was just glad that he was sitting in enough shade for it not to be too bothersome. Her note on it being one of her earlier languages interested him. Ignis wasn't sure whether to consider it good that they had a small amout of common ground or not. It wasn't like his kind had a whole lot of time to be thinking about how to act in social situations. But then, he didn't even know how many there were. Much less exactly how they all acted.
Even n his first days as... well, this thing he became, Ignis had considered the idea that others like him were different. Maybe they were not just fire. But he had been assured that wasn't the case. He bitterly remembered him new companion testing him, trying to take over his thoughts and defeat the man. But he had never been one to give in easy to mind games. Though, no matter how hard he pressed, Scintilla refused to devulge information about anything that might be of use. Ignis sighed. History was history, and the past wasn't his friend anyways. All he needed, right now, was a second of peace. This stranger uttered a soft comment, "The wind is intrigued by you." while a soft breeze brushed past. He knew that fire did in fact require air to stay aflame anyhow. So it may as well have been something he liked. Well, he didn't hate it. And hate had been boiling inside him for a long time. His hair moved like the flames on his monster as the air brushed through it, causing him to take a small interest in it for the moment. Such an odd sensation.
The way she acted, he got it in his mind that she had been around as long if not longer than he. But was it really surprising to find such things out anymore? Not, not really at all. Centuries ago, he had not even known about the lycanthropes and other supernatural things that seemed to be crawling through this town. Humanity may be the dominant race of this earth, he mused, but they had so little knowladge compared to what they thought they knew, and had been infiltrated by other things that it was almost funny. No one really got it, did they? All thinking they ruled their home, but truth be told, Ignis held few in regaurd as powerful enough to ackowledge at all. But he was losing his mind again, wandering off into nonsence. He looked at her as she frowned slightly. It was less becoming than her other expressions had been, but amusing to him.
When she spoke again, it caught him offguard to hear that she was giving her name. What exactly was this? Now he really wanted to know. Had he been more audacious, he might say such a thing outright, or question scintilla, but neither seemed a great idea. Mainly because he doubted he could, and scintilla felt mad at him for even being here. Like he cared what it thought! A brow raised somewhat when she added the bit about her sort of nickname. It was interesting enough. His head tilted s bit, looking at her at an angle, wondering why she would bother telling him her name. What was with other creatures? He didn't understand. Did she think he would reply? Because Ignis certainly did not have to at all. But he kind of wanted to anyways. Just give his own in response. Oh, what insanity was driving him? He still had things to do once nightfall came. Still would have to leave. Would they see each other again? Of course, there was the question of whether he wanted to obey today. Maybe he felt rebelious...
Yep. He was a goner. Scintilla could feel his questins that burned though his mind, and didn't like this. Didn't like the whole thing. If Ignis got ppunished, the monster would be in trouble as well. Not that ignis was in the mood to bother with any of that. Not now, and not later. He listened to the odd accentation of her words as they faded away, leaving the air and remaining in his mind now. His own voice could change at a moments motice if he felt like it. A entertaining side affect of learning many languages and going many places. After a second, he responded, though he wasn't entirely sure of what he was doing, still ever aware that he was sitting on the brink of pissing off the thing that was now directly on him and not sure what to think of it all either, "Hm. I like it. I'm called Ignis. And, you can refer to this beast," He muttered, gesturing to the creature disguising itself as a tattoo on his arm, "As Scintilla." He didn't expect her to fully understand the meaning of the thing, but it was well enough she knew it's name.

| Something flickered in her eyes for less than a heartbeat, a look of sureness for a split second. "Names are powerful things." She murmured briefly, and then snapped back to attention. "Now you interest me. And this Scintilla. I've not had an actual audience with one of your likeness, but I've had brief... Run ins. This time I'm quite determined to become acquainted." Her tone was casual, but sometimes when she spoke, the words she used were of an older dialect. She was direct, not at all beating around the bush. "And being the creature I am, curiosity tempts me." She tilted her head ever so slightly, eyes smoothly running over his tattoo and then back up to his lips, his jaw, his eyes. "It seems so typical and annoying, but I am honestly curious, and unfortunately honesty may be one of my strongest traits." She ignored the breeze that bitterly teased her, running across her skin coolly, and watched Ignis. It was more than just what he was; she wanted to know him, to be able to know what he was thinking with one look, to understand how he functioned. She suppressed the hollow feeling in her chest, and pushed away the useless thoughts, irritated with herself. "I don't know much about how this works or anything, but I've met some with 'bonded' animals hidden as a few different things, and wonder if this is similar?" Her voice wasn't pestering, it made the question simple and smooth. All her attention was on him, as she sat still as the stone she was perched on, with the exception of her dress and long locks, which flicked in the wind. Her gaze was slightly unnerving, as she kept contact with his eyes. Amber against that deep, multi-toned blue. | |

| He listened to her words about names being powerful, and honestly could not disagree with it. After all, he did have a slight fondness for the whole idea of names. A title that captures someone or something in their entirety, and puts it into a word you can use to describe it. Or, that was how it should be if names were chosen properly. Either way his own name managed to be both true, and a lie. It was his name, but it did not fully describe him. Well, that was how he felt anyways. Not like he was always this way. Things were once different for him, but the past was gone, and He didn't really need to think about all that.
He raised his brows and even allowed a wide smirk to curve his lips at her next words, "Now you interest me. And this Scintilla. I've not had an actual audience with one of your likeness, but I've had brief... Run ins. This time I'm quite determined to become acquainted." Well well, not only was she more intent on him, these words made him slightly more interested. Determined, hm? Well, he would see how this all might play out. After all, he didn't exactly have a huge cash of friends or anything. So what would make him want to give up his time to her? It was an amusing question and one he would enjoy watching her try and answer. But he still had a feeling that he might actually care about her. So maybe Jet had an unusual advantage.
He listened to her words, flowing past and hitting his ears like rushing water. He understood and got everything, but her real focus was somewhere else. Why was it that he found himself taking so much as a moment to think about her in any depth? It was not his usual behavior. Although, normally he was antisocial and never really got into a conversation with anyone. Yet, here he was. Already too far into talking to her to be able to leave just like that, not that he felt any desire to do so, and now he had no clue how anything might work out. He did have places to be in the evening and night, and that wouldn't change. But maybe his thoughts on what was happening would. Maybe.
At the question, he tilted his head to the side, trying to decide what he thought of this. Even as he mulled it over in his mind, his bright amber eyes returning the steady gaze of her deeper blue. It was a simple question, asked in just the right tone so that it wasn't an annoyance. But the words themselves were what caught his attention the most. He frowned somewhat as the proper words to use in an answer attempted to assemble themselves. Not entirely unsuccessfully, but not quite how he wanted them.
If he had a good one, an answer would have produced itself in an instant, but such wasn't the case. Fact being that Ignis hadn't actually met others of his kind. Okay, he had, but only one and it was not a friendly experience, much less one he wanted to recount to her. But so was life. An annoying pain he would just have to deal with. Not so bad, he had made it this far, "Well, I'm not really the one to ask. The last time I saw one of my kind... Well, let's just say I came away with a story and some scars to remember it by. But I can tell you that Scintilla is a pain and such things ought to be avoided. He is, simply put, a monster. And one I can't be rid of either." He grimaced at this, bringing to the surface his disdain at the creature he was so annoyingly stuck with. But then, who would like having such a thing?

| She dipped her head slightly, a distracted nod. "Don't dislike him so much, everyone's got something monstrous to hide. Even if that thing comes disguised as... Angelic." She chose her last word carefully, and the whole phrase rang with truth. Then again, she didn't have much choice. Almost everything she said was a 'white lie', the truth, but not all of it. She had to speak this way. She couldn't lie. It was no matter of morals, it was actually impossible for her to lie. If the words began to form untrue, excruciating pain began between her shoulder blades, racing through her bloodstream. The words couldn't form. It was a disgusting experience, and she shuddered slightky at the thought. But no matter, she had learned to save herself the torment. She returned her focus to Ignis, thoughtful. "There's an experience we have in common." She said, though her skin was smooth and flawless, no scars seeming to break it. That was a lie, one she wasn't responsible for. She'd rather show off her battle scars, but of course, the choice wasn't hers to make. She sighed quietly, a barely audible release of breath. She glanced to Scintilla, leaning forward to get a closer look. Her dress slid slightly down one shoulder, but she paid not attention. "In a way, he's a beautiful creature." She said, studying the lines he was made up of. She looked up to him, still leaning forward slightly. "But I understand your loathing." She didn't explain this, but simply stated it, twirling a ring around her finger all the while. It was made of some metal-like material, spun so delicately that the swirling patter made of fine strands looked like it could break at any moment. Because the pattern was so minute scale, if you focused on the ring, you'd think that it was swirling in small eddies around her finger. Strange. The ring didn't have any use, but it was significant to others of her kind. It was the way of identifying her. Names didn't mean that much, but their rings were significant. It was odd, but as were the ring-bearers. | |
