Lady lucks eyes fluttered open. She flinched slight at the pain in her abdomen, achingly familiar. She stood, careful not to wake Lidia or Shaton. She silently left the cave, her legs carrying her though the dunes and to the soft grass of the orchard. She wandered to the middle, and then lay down, carefully. She gasped softly as the pain ripped through her again, but that was the only sound she made. The moonlight shone off of her sweat-dampened coat. Suddenly, she stopped gasping. She climbed to her feet, and dropped her head to clean the tiny creature that was laying on the grass. It opened its eyes, and gazed in wonder at the great big world it had been born into. Lady Luck nudged it, and then lifted her head. The foal struggled up, trying to stand, but fell again. The mare didn't make a move to help. The foal had to do this alone. Suddenly, it was up. Wobbly, but standing. It took one step towards its mother, then another, tjen another. It found her sweet milk, and then whinnied softly. She quietly nickered back.

The filly gazed up at her mother with her big,googly eye color changing eyes after she had finished nursing. She callopsed and slept,snoring like a newborn should.

(I shall name her Lady Seren)

Lady Luck stood over Lady Seren, looking up. She looked up at the stars, silently. Then she looked back down to her filly. She was a bright, golden bay, with a fluffy, midnight black mane and tail. She smiled softly, and then looked up, daring anything to touch her. She looked over at the cave, and then looked away again when she saw nothing but the, empty black entrance.

Shaton trotted over and nuzzled her,"Wonderful work,again."

She sighed, smiling at him. "Every time, you get so worked up, and it goes fine." She said, glancing down at the filly.

"So"?

"Just pointing it out." She said, yawning. She rested her head on Shatons back.

He sighed and pricked his ears.

She smiled and closed her eyes, dozing off.

Lady Seren blinked opun her small,warm little eyes. "Mama?"

She blinked her eyes open, waking up. She looked down at the filly and smiled. "Seren."
