Shay sat down in front of the store, leaning on the wall. She carried a backpack with food, water, medicine, a jacket, and a sewing kit on her back. She held her guitar in her right, a water bottle on her left. She had scars all over her arms and face from where her mom and dad abused her. She had been running for the past day, and was insanely tired, especially for a fifteen year old who was used to staying up all night, fearing that someone would drop an iron on her stomach. She put her baseball cap in front of her, then turned her backpack into a pillow and, putting her jacket on, leaned on it and slept.

She opened her eyes to the sound of coins falling into her cap. "Thankyou," she said. She put her head back down and went back to sleep.
------------------2 Hours later-------------------------
Shay finally woke up, screaming. She finally calmed down, relizing that everyone was staring at her. She ignored them and grabbed her guitar, opening its case and gently taking it out. She began to play, singing the words to a song she had written before her escape, over and over...

Suddenly, a clap of thunder burst through the skies, the whole world completely white. When it faded, Shay already had her guitar packed up and was running to find shelter. Then, she found it. There was a small alley, brick on every side but the front. There was a roof inside, and a small couch in the middle of the space. She walked to the back and put her stuff in the corner. She turned to the couch and moved it to the side of the alley, its back facing the outside. It left a space only big enough for a person to crawl through. She took a peice of plywood and set it in front of the gap. There was a small "man hole" in the corner, perfect for a "bathroom". She could simply make this her home. Perfect. She found some bricks and laid them in a square in one of the corners, the fire pit. She could take her tips, buy some more food and water, matches, and a better coat. Then, all she would have to do is keep playing and find twigs.

She grabbed her money, bought some matches, went inside her alley, and waited for the storm to pass.

Shay packed up her guitar, and left the shelter. She headed out to the bar to play.

----------About an hour later-----
Shay walked into the alley, smiling. She made her bed and sat down, thinking of tomorrow. She fell asleep with her guitar.
-------------MORNING------------------
She woke up, grabbed her stuff, and walked right into the store. She put her coins in, and called Megan.

She opened up her phone and accpeted. "Hey Shay!! I'm going into a taxi right now to come and pick you up. I bought thus large apartment,it also has a two horse run in barn!" There was a thwunk in the backround.

"Cool, thanks. What was that?"

"The cab i'm taking to your home. I'll be there in like a second." She hung up and then a loud,beep!!! could be heard in the streets,the cab stopped at where her house was. "I'm here!You need help packing or did you already do it?"

"I already did it." She pointed to her guitar case and her book bag. She got in the car.

"Awesome!" She flicked a hand and the cab spurted and drove quickly through the streets. It skirted through a dirt road and then turned into a gravel driveway and stopped,the cab man got his money and practivly shoved the girls out. "Okay,I managed to get you a phone like mine too." She smiled and took out a black phone instead of grey though.

She looked at it, studying its features. "Cool. Thanks."

"Welcome. Now... I'll just have to call Jo so he can come and pick us up." She dialed his number.

Jo awnsered, "Hello?"
Shay wanted to ask who Jo was, but decided to wait untill Megan was done and she had met him.

"We got another horse to catch for Shay,you'll meet her when you come to my apartment. Come over asap!"

"Ok," came the voice on the other line, "I'll get my things and come over."

She squealed and hung up,"Jo's my almost boy-friend. We're dating." She smiled.

"Ah, that explains it."

"Yea. He's going to help us." She smiled brightly. "Comon! Let's go unpack before he gets here. She grabbed her bag and frowned. [b]"We areaooo going shoping!"

Shay laughed. "Well, i couldn't pack very much!"

"Okay suree. You can use my stuff too. I think makeup will tye in too." She giggled,this was going to be so much fun!

She smiled.

She ran inside the house,squealing.

Jo pulled up aout the same time as Shay got out."Hello,Megan. And hello..." He searche his memory,"Shay, was it?"
Shay nodded her head, "Yes. And you are Jo."

Megan came out of the house again,she wrapped her arms around Jo,"Jo! Shay,I see you've already met Jo. Ready to go catch a horse!?" She smiled brightly and leaned onto Jo.

Jo smiled and returned the hug.
Shay nodded, clumps of blonde hair falling into her face, locking her smile.
