Some people say that when you hear the pounding of horses, a human's heart will pound along with the beat. It's instinctive, humans and horses are bonded somehow. It goes way back, people can't even trace it anymore. Souls interwine together, personalities match up, soulmates? Some believe it. There is a horse for everyone, and only the lucky ones find eachother. Denis and Daioh. They're the lucky ones.

Hooves dug into the earth, kicking up dirt as four legs ate up the ground. If you had good hearing, you would be able to tell that Denis' heart was pounding along with the hooves. There is nothing like the site of two beings that are completely one. The human's body flows with the horses' rhythm. Cheesy as it may be, its true. Nothing can change the fact that when there are two seperate beings who are made for eachotehr, they will come together, and be better than they ever were before.

A jump came along their path, but it was no big deal. Denis could feel Daioh's muscles bunch under him as he gathered up his strength. A leap of faith. Front legs came up as back legs pushed down into the earth, springing the pair into the air, up, up, and over. When the front legs met the ground, they bent slightly, to allow the back ones to meet carefully. As soon as they did, Daioh's legs sprung forward, never missing a beat.

They continued, only focused on eachother's silent commands. There was no one who could interrupt them, try, try, try as you must. They were unstoppable. When Daioh's breathing became harder than normal, he made no sign of wanting to slow down. But Denis could feel it, sitting back, Daioh understood and he slowed. No command was given through reins or legs, only the slight change of position. They were one, anyone who watched them could tell. There was no doubt about it..

A pair appeared from a small trail that branched off the main one. A girl, and a big palomino thoroughbred. Cassie's hair hung down to the small of her back, and was empty of the colourful locks that normally hung in ringlets with her ebony curls. Lightning nickered to Denis and Daioh, ears pricked, and Cassie started slightly, looking up, her eyes flickering in colour to their normal blue. "Oh, hey." she said, covering her startled look with a friendly smile. Lightning stepped airily forward, ears still pricked forward, nostrils flared in greeting. Her leather halter was lopsided on her nose, and the rope lead hung loosely over Cassies shoulder as the girl sidestepped, to avoid being stepped on by her big horse. She looked up at Denis, "You guys are really quite a pair." she commented, honestly. "Its not a common thing, a bond like yours."

Denis and Daioh both heard the nicker from Lightning, Daioh returned it with a whinny. Denis looked over and waved at the both of them. Basically reading his mind, Daioh walked over closer to the two of them. "Hey." He smiled gently at her when she said hello. Denis swung his leg over Daioh's back, landing on the ground swiftly. Loosening the girth, Denis listened to Cassie as she spoke. He paused for a moment, thinking over what she had said. "That's true. I guess we're both lucky then.. I don't know what I would do without this horse." He chuckled to himself, shaking his head as he patted Daioh's rump. "Have you ever had one like this? I know you're close to your horse now, but anything like we have?"

She shook her head. "Ive got exceptional relationships, like Lightning here, but nothing like that." For this she was glad; it was hard enough to have to keep going, when everyone else faded from the world. It was a struggle to cope with it, a struggle that she sometimes almost lost. Insanity was always near, waiting for her to let it in. She blinked it away, and looked back at Denis. "Do you do dressage?" she asked randomly.
