It was cold. Oh how it was cold. Winds blue her sideways, pushing her slim frame back and forth as she staggered forward. As the days grew shorter the wind and rain grew stronger. White skies seemed to be the everlasting forecast of the Wild State, and any wolf who was smart was taking shelter with other wolves. Every wolf knew what hard work it took to be a loner, and each and every wolf heard the stories of the loners, the ones who had survived, and the ones who didn't. Pandora was smart. She was finding a pack. She had hear of this one, and knew that it was just starting out. She knew for a fact that they would need her, and they would insure her a spot in the pack. Her talent was most incredible, as far as talents go, even if she didn't have wings, and couldn't bring back the dead. In the middle of winter her power would be a necessity.
She trudged on, and as she did snow began to fall, tiny little flakes of white. It landed on the dyeing trees, the branches open to the snow's clutches with the leaves. Her obsidian pelt stuck out like a sore thumb, like a shadow gliding through the light of an angel. She looked unnatural, like she wasn't meant to be there. And in fact, she wasn't She wasn't born here, and she was a traveling loner like many others, all she was here for was to stop by. Of course, now that she knew te winters were as rough as they were this year, she knew she wouldn't be able to survive on her own, even with her power. She would have to stay, and she knew if she joined a pack she couldn't just leave. She had been forced to call this place her home. Of course, she'd never tell you that. Pandora began thinking. Really thinking. How was she supposed to propose herself to the alpha? She didn't exactly want to be the maiden in distress, nor the idiotic one claiming they simply needed company. Surely he would see through it. Or her, now that Pandora though about it for a moment.
Eventually Pandora gave up the task of trying to decode this mysterious wolf she had yet to meet. She would just have to wait until the time came, even if she knew she would most-likely get this wolf pissed off without proper thought about what she was going to say. But Pandora couldn't do a thing about it, and so she left it. Left the thought hanging abandoned in her puzzling mind to be picked up another day. Finally she reached the border to the pack. She sat and lifted her maw, opening her jaws and let out the loudest howl she could, knowing she'd be competing with the screeching of the winds. Her melodic howl echoed through the lands, and as she waited she couldn't help but smile. This should be an eventful evening.
