A cool, gentle wind rippled through the blue night, bringing with it a bit of relief for the dark bay arab mare, whose sides were swollen with pregnancy, and flank soaked in sweat. She tossed her head, snorting as her white star flashed in the night. She trotted on, her steps faltering slightly, until she found a small clearing with soft grass, surrounded by trees and brush. She lay down slowly, puffing slightly as her side rippled with a contraction. Her foals were coming.

Flint could smell Starlight on the wind. His mouth formed a smile and he quickly cantered to the Underbrush Grove. She was having their foals! He lay down beside her, "I'm here Starlight."

She smiled despite the contraction that tore through her body. She lay her head over his front legs, closing her eyes against the splitting feeling. The hours dragged on, and then finally She felt something slip inside her. She lifted her head slightly as she pushed, and the first foal slid out, front hooves first. He snorted slightly, and Starlight half got up, moving so she could clean his nose, and then the rest of him. He looked around with wide eyes at the peaceful grove, and his parents. His scruffy mane and tail were black, and his body a peachy color. His head was a darker shade, similar to sorrel, and he had a blaze. Starlight made sure he was clean and drying before nudging him towards Flint slightly. "Teach him how to stand." She murmured softly, voice silky with joy.

Flint watched in amazement as his son was born. He was the most gorgeous stallion he had ever seen. As Starlight pushed the boy towards him and told him to teach his own son how to stand, Flint grinned. He stood up carefully and walked the few steps to his son. He nuzzled his side, grabbing gently onto the colt's little mane and tugging upwards a little bit. He nuzzled him again and smiled while he waited to see if his son would be able to stand.

While the colt stood unsteadily, wobbling slightly. By the time he was steady, Starlight was getting up, a filly laying beside her. She gently cleaned the foal, a brassy dapple figure, with a pale mane of fluff. The filly stood up with ease, stretching her long legs.

Flint smiled as he watched his son stand. When he looked over at his mate he smiled. He nuzzled his son towards Starlight and nuzzled his mate gently. "Wonderful job love." He smiled ten nuzzled his daughter with a smile.

The filly looked up at Flint with wide, bright eyes, as the colt stumbled to his mother and began to nurse. Starlight gently nudged the filly towards her teets, and she too nursed beside her brother. Starlight smiled at Flint, eyes sparkling, and she gently lipped his mane.
