The beat up, blue convertible rumbled dow the deserted country road. A skeleton sat at the drivers side... But alas, not the living dead who drove the vehicle. no, it was a girl. Her shoulder length black hair twirled in the wind, as her eyes traced the road, bony fingers clutching the steering wheel. There was a box of crackers on the seat next to her.

The voice in her head taunted her, and she dropped the cracker out the window, narrowing her eyes as she drove. I am pink empty inside, and Empty is Strong, Strong, Strong. She thought as she drove. but suddenly, she sees the forest looming towards her, the shadows seeping into her hollow eye sockets, making it all go Black.

From afar, all you coulkd see was a car veer off the road, and slam into the trees. You could hear some wood cracking, you could hear some metal creaking, and you could hear the skinny skinny 18-year-old give a very faint scream just before the famine took her consiousness

Sylvia, who was hiking, saw some trees fall. Then metal creaking. Then her sensitive ears caught a scream. "Oh no." She grabbed her backpack and ran. "Please be ok, please be ok, please be ok," she said to herself as she drew nearer and nearer.

She skidded to a halt at the end of the path, spotting the truck still a mile away. She groaned and ran toward the truck, her ponytail bouncing behind her, her wolf following like a child.

Smoke rose from the engine, as a few more cracks of falling trees sounded.

She reached the car and started to claw at the trees. "Hello?! Are you alright?!?"

There was no reply, but a delicate hand dangled from the crushed car, twitched slightly.

The wolf started to claw trees out of the way while Sylvia came over to the side and looked through the window. "Hello?"

The girls hair was spread around her thin face, framing the pale skin. Her eyes were closed, but her lips, parted, taking in shallow breaths. There was a cut running slanted across her cheek, blood trailing down into the roots of her hair.

"Crap." The wolf pulled one last tree off the truck , barely able to slide it. They both jumped into the car, Sylvia searching franticly through her bag.

She lay sprawled across the seat, the seatbelt broken, her feet still next to the pedals.

"Crapcrapcrap." The wolf howled, and Sylvia crawled over to the body. "Are you ok? Can you speak?"

She cracked open her eyes, and moaned painfully.

A chesnut horse trotted up, a pack saddle piled high with medicine on his back. "Come on." She lifted the girl up, and walked over to the towl the wolf had layed on the ground. She set her on the ground and then grabbed some of the medicine.

Her eyes were still closed as she fought for consciousness.

Sylvia reached down as she applied the last of the meds. "Wake up!" She tried effortlessly to revive the stranger.

Her eyes opened. "What happened?" She looked at her bruised, thin arm, confused.

"You crashed that poluting, metal beast into that poor tree." She scowled.

She looked over, as a little voice in her head screeched 'I told you so, you need food to drive. Food is fuel.' She sat up, leaning on her elbows. "I think I blacked out."

"From what??"

She just shrugged.

Her shoulders dropped, and she sighed. "Well, I can't help you if I don't know what you need."

She shrugged again. "Maybe I'm just a little dehydrated."
