Perce did as he was asked, easily passing the mare. He snorted and tossed his head. He was happy to be out of his stall after being sick.

Faye looked back at Silva and laughed.

Silva chuckled and hook his head. "Two can play at that game." he called to her. He nudged the mare into a quick canter before urging her into a gallop. They rocketed past the stallion and Faye.

Faye whispered the word out loud now: run.

Perce snorted and tossed his head before launching forward into a steady gallop. The short head start the mare had didn't help as the stallion raced past her.

Faye grinned when she saw the log ahead. She urged the stallion forward as she asked him to jump over it.

Perce obediently did as he was asked. His stride never breaking as he smoothly leaped over the log.

Faye laughed at the sheer bliss she felt. You're a jumper aren't you? She said gleefully.

Perce simply snorted in reply before his ears flicked forward at a distant sound. He suddenly skidded to a halt. He lifted his head high, ears forward and nostrils flaring.

Faye kept her balances easily on the big horse. Perce?

Silva brought his mare to a stop beside Faye, watching the stallion carefully. Perce ignored the mare beside him. He lifted his head even higher and whinnied loudly. His ears straining to catch any noise. It was only a couple moments later before his call was returned by a couple of distant whinnies.

Faye glanced at Silva. She wasn't sure what the stallion was going to do next but she kept her legs firmly around him.

Silva was about to tell Faye to turn Perce around and head back to the stables when there came another distant whinny. Perce returned it eagerly and bolted forward. Silva shouted in surprise, his mare acting up and refusing to follow. The mare had gotten into a fight with another wild mare and had no intention of going anywhere near the Mustangs again.

Faye held on with everything she had, leaning forward and holding fistfulls of his mane.

Perce thundered across the ground. It almost seemed as if he were following an invisible path as he swerved around or jumped over obstacles in the way.

Faye tried to keep up with him, but there was one time that a huge jump unbalanced her. She fell off his back with a small grunt as she hit the ground.

Perce's brand glowed and sent an electric jolt through his body that sent him skidding to a stop, squealing in pain the moment Faye hit the ground. He shook himself and looked back to where Faye had landed. Guilt filled him the moment he saw his Master. Trotting back to her side he kept his head low, nickering softly.

Faye got up quickly and dusted herself off. I'm fine. She told the horse.

Perce nickered softly and nudged her hand, his eyes apologetic. His ears flicked back and he kept his head low. The sound of Silva's shouting had long since disappeared behind them.

Faye gently stroked the horses muzzle. It's alright. She whispered.

Perce's ears flickered at his Master's voice, snorting softly when she stroked his muzzle. He stayed still for a moment before another whinny broke the silence. This time a lot closer.

Faye glanced around, searching for the source of the whinny.

Perce jerked his head up, his ears forward and nostrils flaring. Another whinny came followed by a few more, each one different. Even the sound of a young foal was heard close by. Perce snorted as the first mare walked out of the trees. It wasn't long before an entire herd made itself known behind the first horse. They were of every variety and color. Pintos, appoloosas, paliminos, dappled grays, bays, and more. There were mares of every age and a couple of young stallions and foals.

Faye bit her lip and looked around for Silva.

Silva was still fighting with his mare. She had bolted in the opposite direction that Perce had run. Silva was trying to get her calmed enough he could get her back to the ranch and come back with a different horse.

Perce nickered softly at the lead mare, a beautiful black horse. She walked slowly up to him and sniffed him. He held still, his eyes watching her. The mare suddenly let out a soft snort before touching her muzzle against his. Perce nickered happily and tossed his head. While Perce took after his father in markings and most of his build, he had similar features to his mother as well.
